Valentine's day is round the corner!

Los hay que se declaran en contra de esta celebración pero lejos de toda opinión al respecto el 14 de Febrero se acerca sigilosamente y las firmas al igual que muchas parejas se preparan para la llegada de San Valentín.

Una de esas marcas que han decidido apostar por el famoso día de los enamorados es Guess que además de haber lanzado una línea de productos especial para ese día, que ya podéis encontrar en sus tiendas y a la que pertenece la camiseta que podéis ver en las fotografías, – obsequio por una compra superior a 100€ –, mañana sábado podréis disfrutar de algunas acciones que se llevarán a cabo en sus tiendas del Paseo de Gracia (número 13 y número 63) como la toma de una fotografía en un escenario decorado para la ocasión y tras lo cual obtendréis una Polaroid personalizada para complementar vuestro regalo.

MBFW Madrid Feb. 2012 - IV, El Ego

Esta ha sido mi primera vez en El Ego, nunca antes había podido estar presente en los desfiles de los diseñadores noveles y aunque el domingo tuve que dejar pronto Ifema me llevé una muy buena impresión y una cosa me quedó clara: El diseño en España es joven y aun queda mucho por ver.

Moisés Nieto ganador del premio L’Oréal al mejor creador de El Ego fue el encargado de abrir los desfiles del último día y no defraudó gracias a una colección inspirada en los monjes, donde el color predominante fue sin duda alguna el negro y en la que los cuellos altos y los collares rígidos de metal cobraron gran importancia.

Otro de los grandes de este círculo de diseñadores nóveles son sin duda Jordi Espino y Elisabeth Vallecillo que se esconden detrás de El colmillo de Morsa, una de las firmas jóvenes más fuertes de la actual Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid.

Even the make up room is a good place to read a book!

This has been my first time at El Ego, I have never been able to attend the fashion shows of the beginner designers and although the last Sunday I had to left Ifema very early the collections I could see made a very good impression on me, and made me think something: The design in Spain is really young and there is still a lot to see.

Moisés Nieto the winner of the L’Oréal prize to the best El Ego designer was the person in charge of opening the fashion show schedule last day of the fashion week and he didn’t disappoint thanks to a collection inspired in the monks and which had the black as the main color and in which turtlenecks and the stiff metal made necklaces become very important.

Other one of the greatest brands of this small circle of novice designers are without a doubt Jordi Espino and Elisabeth Vallecillo which are hidden behind El colmillo de Morsa, one of the strongest young brands in the actual Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

MBFW Madrid Feb. 2012 - III

Unos diseños cálidos y centrados en los colores neutros conforman Jazz Society, la apuesta de Sita Murt para la próxima temporada que estuvo plagada de curiosos volúmenes formados por la superposición de punto sobre el mismo material y que consiguió robar algún que otro suspiro a las allí presentes.

Otro de los desfiles que más me llamó la atención fue el de Jesús Lorenzo quien presentó una colección basada en las pieles, hecho que levantó algunas ampollas pero que desde el punto de vista más estético es imposible negar la magia que desprenden cada uno de los diseños presentados el pasado sábado.

Y para cerrar el capítulo de los desfiles de diseñadores consagrados que pude presenciar me quedo con Jesús Marinero y los llamativos accesorios que lucieron las modelos en la cabeza representando la obra del pintor simbolista Gustav Klimt.

Tal y como os comentaba ayer durante estos días iré subiendo fotografías a mi Flickr así que si tenéis un rato y queréis ver más sobre lo que mi cámara captó en la MBFWM ya podéis disfrutar de las primeras instantáneas ¡Espero que os gusten!

Warm desings focused on neutral colors form Jazz Society, Sita Murt’s bet for the next season, which was riddled with curious volumes formed by the superimposition of knits and that stole some sighs of the ones who where there.

Other fashion show which also caught my eye was the Jesús Lorenzo one who exhibited a collection based on fur, fact which raised people's hackles but seeing it from the more aesthetic point of view it is impossible to deny the magic each design gives off.

And for ending up the chapter of the acclaimed designers collections I could be present at I have to mention the one signed by Jesús Marinero and the striking accessories models show off on her heads which represented the Gustav Klimt works of art.

As I wrote yesterday, during these days I will be uploading photographs to my Flickr so if you have some minutes and you are curious about what was brewed on and behind the catwalk you can enjoy the first photographs, I hope you like them!

Cuando se trata de fotografiar desfiles toda cantidad de disparos me parece pequeña para plasmar la esencia de una colección, sin embargo a la hora de seleccionar las que subiré al blog la cosa se complica y es que me encantaría enseñaros todas, pero tampoco veo necesario cargar excesivamente los posts, es por ello que en los próximos días podréis ver más fotografías de cada desfile y algunas colecciones que por no alargar excesivamente la MBFWM no subiré al blog en mi Flickr – el icono de la barra lateral os redirige al antiguo Flickr donde podéis ver ediciones pasadas de Cibeles y alguna fotografía personal -.

Dejando esto a un lado y centrándome en los desfiles he de comenzar diciendo que cualquier colección de las tres que veis en este post me sorprendieron gratamente, Maya Hansen dejó el espíritu dominatrix a un lado y confió en Juncal Rivero para abrir y cerrar 5th Avenue, una colección llena de diseños espectaculares que mezclaban los corsés con impresionantes vestidos de largas colas.

Por su parte Maria Escoté dejó a la sala C Coupé sin habla tras una explosión de colores flúor, leopardo y simbología egipcia, un gran soplo de creatividad e imaginación por parte de la diseñadora quién no dudó en apagar las luces para el carrusel final y dejar que alguno de sus diseños brillaran bajo luces de neón.

Y para finalizar este resumen nada mejor que Park Life de Martin Lamothe, colección de la que cabe destacar el uso de cuero a modo de patchwork, estampados geométricos, la hegemonía del burgundy, así como de los verdes y mostazas que desfilaron sobre la alfombra a modo de hierba que cubría la pasarela.

When talking about taking photographs of fashion shows every quantity of shots seems little to me, nonetheless when I have to select the ones I am going to upload to the blog the decision is really hard because I would love to show you all of them, but I don’t see necessary to overload the posts, it is because of that reason why the following days you will be able to see more photographs of each fashion show and some collections which I am not going to show you in the blog with the intention of not extending excessively the MBFWM in my Flickr – the banner placed on the sidebar is linked to my old Flickr account where you can see past editions of Cibeles and some personal photographs –.

Leaving this aside and focusing my attention in the fashion shows I have to start saying that these three collections you can see in this post surprised me gratefully, Maya Hansen left the dominatrix spirit above and trusted in Juncal Rivero to start and finish 5th Avenue, a collection full of spectacular designs which mixed the corsets with incredible long tail dresses.

On her part Maria Escoté left the C Coupé room flabbergasted after an explosion full of fluor colors, leopard print and Egyptian symbology, a big puff of creativity and imagination on the designer’s part who didn’t doubt in switching off the lights for the carousel and make some of the designs shine with own light under neon lights.

And for finishing this summary I have to mention Park Life by Martin Lamothe, collection of which I have to emphasize the use of the leather as patchwork, the geometric prints, the hegemony of burgundy, green and mustard colors which paraded up and down the catwalk which was covered with a grass like carpet.

MBFW Madrid Feb. 2012 - I, José Matteos Off

¡Ya estoy de vuelta! Y conmigo traigo además de una tarjeta de memoria llena y mucho cansancio acumulado, la alegría de haber vuelto al pabellón 14.1 de Ifema y de haber pasado dos días con gente increíble.

¡Comenzamos con el resumen!
Un Off oscuro entre columnas y con lipstick amarillo como único atisbo de luz, así fue el fashion show que José Matteos llevó a cabo el pasado viernes en la sala Uttopic_Us de Madrid.
Los volúmenes en las mangas, las transparencias en las faldas de tul y los accesorios de plexiglás negro opaco fueron los principales pilares de la colección, sin embargo lo que más me llamó la atención fueron los zapatos y botas que lucían las modelos, fue difícil conseguir una fotografía en la que se apreciaran pero ¡Ahí la tenéis! Impresionantes es la palabra que mejor los define, aunque he de decir que había más modelos que me fue imposible captar ya que las columnas no lo ponían demasiado fácil, ¡Espero que os hagáis una idea!

I’m back! Yes, I’m back with a card full of photographs and tones of tiredness and also with the happiness of having come back to the 14.1 Ifema’s pavilion and having spent two days with some incredible people.

Let’s start with the summary!
An obscure Off between columns and with yellow lipstick as the only glimpse of light, this is the description of the José Matteos fashion show which was celebrated the last Friday in Uttopic_Us, Madrid.
Sleeves with volume, transparencies in tulle skirts and black opaque accessories made of plexiglas were three of the basic pillars of the collection, nonetheless what impressed me the most were the shoes and boots models wore, it was difficult to take a photograph in which they were noticeable but there you have! Incredible is the best word for describing them, although I have to say there were more shoe models I couldn’t shot because it was not easy to do it when models parade between columns, I hope you can guess what was the style of the shoes!

Hace algo más de dos días que Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid abrió sus puertas y aunque la universidad no me ha permitido estar allí desde el minuto cero no me he perdido ni un solo desfile, y tras desempolvar el Photoshop, ¡Aquí tenéis un pequeño collage-resumen de los detalles de las colecciones que más me han gustado!

Two days ago the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid opened its doors and although university hasn’t let me stay there in action since it started I haven’t miss even a fashion show, and after dusting the Photoshop, here you have a small collage-summary of the details of the collections I like the most!

Sí, habéis leído bien el título, Style on the street hoy cumple ni más ni menos que tres años, tres años llenos de anécdotas, historias, viajes, alegrías…

Cuando me decidí a abrir el blog nunca pensé que pudiera llegar tan lejos, nunca.
Y es que si ahora tuviera que hacer balance de todo este tiempo creo que no podría poner ni una sola cosa en el lado malo de la balanza, porque gracias a todos vosotros he colaborado en proyectos en los que jamás hubiera pensado que podría estar involucrada, he podido disfrutar de la moda de una forma más cercana, he conocido a personas que me han marcado mucho y he compartido momentos geniales con ellas, y sobre todo he disfrutado leyendo cada comentario y correo que he recibido, porque si Style on the street sigue aquí es todo gracias a cada uno de vosotros y a cada minuto que invertís en visitarlo.

Una vez más, ¡Muchísimas gracias por estar ahí!

When I decided to open the blog I didn’t thought I could go so far.
And if today I have to take stock of all this time I think I couldn’t put even a thing in the bad place of the scale, because thank to all of you I have collaborated in projects in which I have never thought I could be involved, I have been able to enjoy fashion in a nearby way, I have met people who have deeply marked me and I have shared great moments with them, and above all I have enjoyed reading each of your comments and e-mails, because if Style on the street is still here is thank to you and thank to every minute you spend visiting it.

Eau de Toilette Miriam Ocariz launching in Perfumerías If

Todo comenzó con Collage, la nueva fragancia de Devota & Lomba que tal y como os conté hace algún tiempo presentaron en el Hotel Meliá de Bilbao, evento al que pude asistir y conocer de primera mano el perfume, así como charlar con el presidente de ACME, Modesto Lomba.

Pero lejos de finalizar ahí, el proyecto Pasarela de Fragancias en unión con Perfumerías If ha apostado por más diseñadores entre los que se encuentra Miriam Ocariz, conjunción de la cual ha nacido Eau de Toilette Miriam Ocariz y cuya presentación tuvo lugar el pasado jueves en Bilbao.

Para finalizar me gustaría dar las gracias a los encargados del evento, ¡Fue genial poder conocer a Miriam y charlar con ella!

Everything started with Collage, the new Devota & Lomba fragrance which as I told you long time ago, was shown in the Meliá Hotel Bilbao, event I was invited to and where I could knew in scoop the perfume, so as talk with the president of ACME, Modesto Lomba.

But far from finishing at that point, the Pasarela de Frangacias project in merger with Perfumerías If has bet for more designers among which is Miriam Ocariz, combination from which has born Eau de Toilette Miriam Ocariz and whose presentation was held in Bilbao last Thursday.

To finish I would like to thank the persons in charge of the event, it was great to meet Miriam and talk with her!

Miriam was really nice and she stayed all the evening smiling!

Une fille comme les autres es un pequeño video promocional de Jalouse en el que queda resumido el día de una joven con cierto aire francés a la que da vida la polifacética modelo Ashley Smith, la misma a la que estamos acostumbrados a ver rodeada por ese aura de rebelde sin causa.

Une fille comme les autres is a short promotional film by Jalouse in which the whole day of a young girl with some kind of French touch is sum up, the role of the girl is played by the versatile model Ashley Smith, the same as we are used to see surrounded by that rebel without a cause aura.

I want your opinion: Lita by Jeffrey Campbell, hit or miss?

Hace tiempo que estos famosos zapatos obra de Jeffrey Campbell han conseguido hacerse un hueco en los armarios de algunas amantes de la moda y las alturas imposibles, sin embargo no todo lo que reciben son buenas críticas y es que al igual que los Creepers, los Lita son el claro ejemplo del “O lo amas o lo odias” al que tan acostumbrados estamos a ver en el mundo de la moda.

Dejando a un lado los gustos personales estos zapatos tienen un gran contra y es que donde encontrarlos es una pregunta difícil de responder.
La mayoría de las webs que los venden tienen colgado el cartel de sold out de forma casi continuada, o incluso otras como Shopbop no los tienen a la venta aunque sea un distribuidor oficial de los mismos.
De todas maneras si sois de las que estáis pensando en compraros un par no os desesperéis, Nasty Gal es la respuesta, ¡Los tienen con todos los modelos!
Y si lo que estáis buscando es un Lita más asequible al margen de que no sean los originales, podréis encontrarlos en Shampalove y en la marca Bullboxer.

Llevaba un tiempo dándole vueltas a la idea de retomar las entrevistas y hace algo más de un mes Mariana publicó un post con unas fotografías que me maravillaron, más de lo que suelen hacerlo habitualmente que ya es decir, así que se me ocurrió ponerme en contacto con ella y proponerle enviarle una serie de preguntas que más tarde serían publicadas en el blog, ella accedió y ¡Aquí tenéis el resultado!

Para mí la fotografía es un arte, aunque aún es muy joven, además un medio magnífico para captar un momento efímero y hacerlo perdurar en el tiempo.

– ¿Desde hace cuanto que utilizas la fotografía como medio artístico? ¿Crees que el hecho de tener un blog te ha abierto puertas, es decir, lo consideras una plataforma buena en cuanto a proyección?

Desde hace unos seis años.Tenía una compacta que tenía unos efectos chulos y me empecé a viciar, lo malo fue que me la robaron pero lo bueno fue que la sustituí por una réflex y empecé a tomarme la fotografía en serio. No hay mal que por bien no venga, ¿no?
Tener el blog es una manera estupenda de darse a conocer y de mostrar al mundo lo que haces, porque de nada sirve tener las fotos guardadas en una carpeta.
Me parece una buena plataforma, pero si te lo tomas en serio hay que intentar ir mucho más allá.

– ¿Has asistido a algún curso sobre fotografía o tratamiento de imágenes? Si es así ¿Cuáles? ¿Los recomendarías?

En la universidad tuve una asignatura de fotografía muy interesante y a partir de ahí aprendí de forma autodidacta y recientemente me apunté a un curso más técnico que artístico porque me faltaba algo de base. El curso lo hice en la Escuela Ultravioleta y tuve la suerte de tener a un muy buen fotógrafo como profesor, así que fue una buena experiencia.
Actualmente, estoy perfeccionando mis conocimientos en retoque digital, ya que también he aprendido de manera autodidacta y por tutoriales de YouTube que, por cierto, también es una buena forma de aprender.

– ¿Qué webs/blogs de fotografías nos recomiendas?

Recomiendo sumergirse en el Flickr y conocer a miles de fotógrafos.
Como inspiración recomiendo este blog de una chica de Atlanta que me apasiona: Mary Robinson
Y también este otro que tienes bastantes posts sobre fotografía muy buenos – además el autor tiene mucho humor –: La soledad del diseñador de fondo

– ¿En qué te inspiras cuando organizas un shooting? ¿Hay algo que sea una fuente de inspiración para ti?

Tengo varias fuentes de inspiración, una de ellas son los sueños, muchas veces he sacado ideas de ellos, por ejemplo la idea de mi proyecto de fin de carrera, que fue un corto, surgió de un sueño.
Una amiga me dice que tengo un toque surrealista y eso encaja con esta fuente de inspiración.
Las canciones también me sugieren muchas veces alguna idea, adoro la música, pero sobre todo las ideas me vienen al ver un paisaje, un vestido, una persona o cualquier otra cosa que inmediatamente, y como si de un flechazo se tratara, me inspiran y a partir de ahí imagino todo lo demás.
Y bueno, también paso mucho tiempo viendo el trabajo de otros fotógrafos y eso siempre es muy inspirador.

– ¿Hay alguna personalidad a la que te gustaría fotografiar? ¿Y algún fotógrafo junto al que te gustaría trabajar?

Me encantaría retratar a los grupos de música que admiro, siempre pienso en la suerte que tuvo Linda McCartney de estar rodeada de todos esos músicos y hacer esas fotografías únicas, espontáneas y bellas.¡Lo que daría yo por haber retratado a Mick Jagger de joven! Le adoro y a Jimmy Hendrix también.
Me gustaría trabajar junto a una fotógrafa española que se llama Esperanza Moya, me siento muy identificada con su trabajo, es impresionante.
También me encantaría haber trabajado con los primeros fotógrafos de Vogue y demás revistas de moda como Helmut Newton, Guy Bourdin, Irving Penn o Norman Parkinson porque hicieron verdaderas joyas con la cámara.

– ¿Crees que el uso del photoshop es algo beneficioso para este sector o por el contrario piensas que devalúa la fotografía?

Esta es una pregunta peliaguda… Te contestaré con un hecho, desde siempre se ha retocado la fotografía, embellecer una foto mejorando los colores, los niveles o contrastes me parece bien, también me gusta construir imágenes más artísticas e irreales con el Photoshop, pero lo que no me gusta es el retoque que falsea una realidad y pretende aparentar que es verdadera.

– Y por ultimo… ¿Cuál es tu consejo para una persona que están iniciándose en la fotografía?¿Alguna recomendación frente al dilema de la elección de una cámara réflex, objetivos… etcétera?

Aconsejo ser muy observador, ver mucha fotografía, ir a muchas exposiciones, conocer a los grandes fotógrafos y también a los no tan grandes, salir mucho a la calle y visitar muchos sitios, ser curioso y trastear mucho con la cámara.
En cuanto a la elección de material, recomiendo empezar con lo básico para conocer qué tipo de fotografía es la que te gusta y a partir de ahí equiparse con lo necesario para ello.

I have been thinking about go back in the lane with interviews and a a month ago Mariana published a post with some photographs which left me speechless, more than they usually do, so it occurred to me to send her an e-mail and suggesting her this kind of collaboration, she accepted it so here you have the result!

If you don’t know her work don’t doubt and visit her blog or Flickr, she is a genius behind the lens.

– Introduce yourself (Name, age…) and say what the photography means to you

My name is Mariana Borau and I am 23 year old. I was born in Venezuela and I have been living in Spain for ten years.
I studied Audiovisual Communication and I am answering these questions while eating M&M’s to see if they can inspire me!
For me photography is an art, although it is a little bit young, and also it is a great way for capturing an ephemeral moment and making it last.

– Since when do you use the photography as an artistic way? Do you think that having a blog has opened you doors? Do you think it is a good platform for scoping your work?

Since six years. I had a compact one which had some nice effects and I started to become addicted, the bad thing was that someone stole me but the good one was I substituted it for a reflex and I started to take the photography seriously. Every cloud has a silver lining, hasn’t it?
Having a blog is a great way to make you known and to show the world what you do, because there is no worth if you save photographs in a folder.
I think it is a good platform for it but if you take it seriously you have to go farther.

– Have you attended any photography or image treating course? If you have done, which ones are them? Would you recommend them?

In the university I had a very interesting photography subject and from that moment on I have been self-taught up to now when I had put my name down in a more technical course because I had some holes in the basic concepts.
The course is taught in the Escuela Ultravioleta and I had the chance to have a very good photographer as a teacher so it has been a great experience.
I am actually improving my skills in digital retouching because I have also been self-taught in this area and well, Youtube videos have helped me a lot and they are also a great way for learning.

– Which photography webs/blogs do you recommend us?

I recommend you to submerge in Flickr and discover hundreds of thousands photographers.
As inspiration I recommend you this blog by a girl who lives in Atlanta and which I really love: Mary Robinson

– Which thing inspire you when you organize a shooting? Is there anything which is a source of inspiration for you?

I have some source of inspirations, one of them is dreams, so many times I have had ideas after dreaming, as an example the idea of my end grade project, which was a short movie, was developed from a dream.
A friend of mine says I have surrealistic touch and it fits in this type of inspiration.
Songs sometimes also suggest me some ideas, I adore music, but above all ideas come when I see a landscape, a dress, a person or some other things which suddenly and like an arrow shot they inspire me, and from this inspiration I imagine all.
And well, I also spend a long time watching other photographers’ work and it is always very inspiring.

–Is there any well known person you would like to photograph? And is there any photographer you would like to work with?

I would love to photograph bands of music I admire, I always think in the good luck Linda McCartney had for being surrounded by all those musicians and shooting those unique photographs, spontaneous and lovely.
I don’t know what I would have given for photographing Mick Jagger when he was young! I adore him and Jimmy Hendrix also.
I would love to work with a Spanish photographer called Esperanza Moya, I feel very identified with her work, it is incredible.
I would also have loved to work with the first Vogue photographers like Helmut Newton, Guy Bourdin, Irving Penn, Norman Parkinson because they did amazing works with the camera.

– Do you think the use of photoshop is something beneficial for this sector or on the contrary you think it devalues photography?

This is a tricky question… I am going to answer you with a fact, from the beginnings photography has been retouched, beautifying a photograph improving the colors, levels or contrasts I think it is good, I also like building more artistic and unreal images with Photoshop, but what I don’t like is the retouch that distorts a reality and expects to show it is true.

– And finally, which is your advice for a person who is starting in the photography world? Can you give a recommendation in the choice of a reflex camera, lens… etcetera?

I advise to be very observant, seeing lots of photographs, going out a lot and visiting many places, be curious and rummage about the camera.
And about the choice of the material, I recommend to start with the basic items so you can discover which photography you like the most and from that moment on equip yourself with everything you need for it.

Cuatro colecciones avalan a la firma Karla Spetic y tras la presentación de la última en la RAFW – Semana de la moda australiana –no puedo negar lo evidente, un genio se esconde tras esos diseños.

Si Dreamer O/I ’10 y Centre P/V ’11 me encantaron y Borderlands O/I ’11 me dejó sin habla, la nueva colección de la firma es innegablemente una de mis favoritas, quizá sea su simplicidad o ese cuidado uso del print de leopardo que hábilmente ha mezclado con imágenes de algunos de los más famosos comics de Roy Lichtenstein lo que me guste, o puede que sea la diafanidad de las transparencias contrarrestada con toques de color no sé, pero lo que sí sé es que no podía dejar de enseñaros parte de su nueva colección para el próximo Otoño/Invierno 2012-2013.

¡Ah y tomad nota de ese jersey en amarillo flúor, esos colores van a dar mucho que hablar!

Four collections endorse the brand Karla Spetic and after the last show in the RAFW – Australian Fashion Week – I can’t deny what is evident, a genius is hidden behind them.

If I liked a lot Dreamer F/W ’10 and Centre S/S ’11, and Borderlands F/W ’11 left me speechless, the new collection signed by this brand is undeniably one of my favorites, maybe it the simplicity or the care use of the leopard print she has cleverly mixed up with images of some of the Roy Lichtenstein's most famous comics what I like, or maybe it is the clear of the transparencies counteracted with color touches, I don’t know, but what I firmly know is that I could not pass by without showing you a preview of her new Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collection.

And hey, take note of that fluorescent yellow sweater, these colors will create a buzz!

84-59-89 y 177cm de altura son las medidas de Beegee Margenyte, la nueva cara de la moda.

Harta de ver siempre las mismas modelos en la mayoría de revistas hace algún tiempo decidí investigar sobre nuevas aspirantes a top models y puedo decir que hay preciosidades con estructuras óseas que muchas modelos consagradas querrían para sí, pero si he de escoger solo a una de ellas me quedo con la lituana Beegee – tal y como habréis adivinado su sobrenombre se refiere al grupo de los 60, los Bee Gees, que además es su grupo de música favorito –.

Una imagen que recuerda en gran parte a Jac Jagaciak y una dulzura comparable a la de Karlie Kloss en sus comienzos son las dos mejores armas de esta modelo novel que apenas lleva algo más de un año sobre las pasarelas.
Además parece ser una chica con los pies en la tierra, tal y como comentó en una entrevista que le hicieron hace unos meses “Mi mayor sueño es convertirme en una modelo de éxito, sé que la gente se refiere a eso como top model pero prefiero no usar ese término, únicamente me gustaría respetar el trabajo que he elegido y ser la mejor”, un ideal nada fácil de conseguir pero cualidades no le faltan, ¡Ojalá tenga un gran futuro!

Tired of seeing always the same models in almost all the magazines some time ago I decided to research into new candidates for being named as top models and I can say that there are lots of beauties with osseous structures which some acclaimed models would love for them, but if I have to chose only one that is the Lithuanian Begee – as you may have guessed her nickname is referred to the famous band of the 60’s, Bee Gees, which moreover is her favorite music band –.

An image which reminds of Jac Jagaciak and sweetness comparable with Karlie Kloss in her beginnings are two of the best weapons of this novel model which started modeling a year before.Moreover she seems to be a girl with both feet firmly planted on the ground, as she answered in an interview a couple of months ago “My biggest dream is to become a successful model, I know people say Top Model but I don't want to use that, I just like respect the work I choose and to be the best", a really not easy but not impossible ideal, she has enough qualities for it I think, I hope she has a promising future!

Hace casi dos años que Harper’s Bazaar España se hizo realidad, en Marzo de 2010 una de las revistas estéticamente más cuidadas llegaba a nuestro país con una prometedora portada de la top Carmen Kass.
Personalmente creo que su evolución ha sido exponencial y he de decir que se ha convertido en una de mis revistas favoritas.
Sus maravillosas editoriales y cada una de las minimalistas portadas de los 21 números publicados hasta la fecha han logrado desbancar a mis otras revistas de cabecera – ¡Ojalá muchas otras publicaciones se dieran cuenta de que el exceso de letras emborrona la portada! – .

¿Mis portadas favoritas de Harper’s Bazaar España? ¡Las seis que veis en el post y en el orden en el que están! La del número de Febrero de este año es preciosa ¿No creéis?

It has been almost two years since Harper’s Bazaar Spain became true, in March 2010 one of the most impeccable magazines arrived in our country with a promising cover in which the top Carmen Kass played the lead role.
I personally think that its evolution has been exponential and nowadays it has turned into one of my favorite magazines.
Their marvelous editorials and each of the 21 covers of the issues they have published up to now have achieved to oust my other top magazines – I hope some other magazines realize that the excess of letters smudge the cover! –

Some amazing S/S 2012 campaigns, part II

A medida que avanza el mes las nuevas campañas de la próxima Primavera/Verano 2012 salen a la luz y yo voy completando la selección de las que más me gustan, aquella que comencé a principios de año y que os enseñé aquí.

La campaña de Emporio Armani con Kendra Spears al frente es sin duda alguna una de mis favoritas, las fotografías en blanco y negro son mi debilidad y me ha resultado muy complicado elegir solo una para publicarla.
También he de admitir que las de Chloé, Isabel Marant y Jil Sander me han sorprendido gratamente, a decir verdad ésta última no me decía demasiado en un principio pero tras verla en diferentes webs y sobre todo por su aura misteriosa y la elección de Natasha Poly como una de las modelos principales he acabado rindiéndome a ella.

Pero si hay una campaña que realmente me encanta esa es la de Valentino, tengo guardadas todas las fotografías que la forman desde la primera vez que la pude ver al completo, ¿No os parece preciosa?

As the month goes by the new Spring/Summer 2012 campaigns are published and I fulfill the selection of those which I like the most, that selection I started on the very first day of the year and which I showed you here.

The Emporio Armani one with Kendra Spears as main model is one of my favorites without any doubt, the fact is that black and white photographs are my weakness and it has been quite a difficult task to choose only one to upload.
I also have to admit that the Chloé, Isabel Marant and Jil Sander ones have surprised me a lot, if I have to tell you the truth the last one didn’t transmit me anything the first time I saw it but it’s mysterious aura and above all the choice of Natasha Poly as one of the models have made me change my mind.

But if there is one campaign which I really love that is the one signed by Valentino, I have all the images saved in my computer since the first time I saw it completely, don’t you think it is a marvel?

The curious case of the models who were not that tall

¿Sabíais que no todas las modelos son tan altas como nos hacen creer? ¿Qué no todas tienen esas piernas interminables que nos hacen ver en las editoriales y revistas? Y sobre todo, ¿Qué hay algunas que no llegan al 1.70 de altura?

Hay tópicos que por el hecho de serlo se toman como totalmente ciertos, sin embargo éstos existen para romperlos, porque las normas establecidas no hay que llevarlas a rajatabla y porque muchas veces el desenvolverse bien delante de una cámara es más importante que tener cinco centímetros más de altura.

La líder indiscutible de este grupo de modelos más bajas de lo normal es sin duda la icónica Kate Moss, la diva de los 90 que hace unos días cumplió 38 años mide 1.68m, igual que la Neozelandesa Zippora Seven.Muy de cerca le siguen Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Barbara Palvin, Bianca Balti o Georgia May Jagger con 1.69m y Hannah Holman, Lily Aldridge o Sasha Pivovarova con el 1.70m, medida que hasta hace poco era el rasero para muchas agencias de modelos y que desde hace unos años la mayoría han subido hasta el 1.72 o 1.75.

Pero aún hay más, mi último descubrimiento ha sido la Australiana Anja Konstantinova que mide únicamente 1.64 y que sin embargo ha conseguido hacerse un hueco en el mundo de la moda gracias a su atípica belleza.
Y ahora bien ¿Por qué se busca la altura cuando lo que las agencias y fotógrafos deberían buscar es una cara bonita o diferente?

Did you know that not all the models are as tall as we think? That not all of them have the never-ending legs we see on the editorials and magazines? And above all, did you know that there are some who are not even 1.70m (5’ 7’’) tall?

There are some hackneyed subject or clichés that for the fact of been it they are taken as totally true, nonetheless they exist for been broken, because the established rules are not for following them strictly and because sometimes coping in front of a camera is more important than been five centimeters taller.

The indisputable leader of this group of below average height models is without doubt the iconic Kate Moss, the 90’s diva who some days ago turned 38 is 1.68m (5’ 6’’) tall, just the same as the New Zealander Zippora Seven.
They are close followed by Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Barbara Palvin, Bianca Balti or Georgia May Jagger with their 1.69m tall and Hannah Holman, Lily Aldridge or Sasha Pivovarova who are 1.70m (5’ 7’’) tall, measurement which until not so long time ago was the measuring stick for many model agencies and which for some years the majority of them have got up till 1.72 or 1.75m (5’ 8’’ or 5’ 9’’).

Andrés Velencoso, the perfection made man

Los que sois lectores asiduos del blog sabéis que la moda masculina es uno de mis puntos débiles y que pocas veces hace su aparición en algún post – estoy trabajando en ello, prometo incluir alguno más de vez en cuando – pero hace unos días encontré estas imágenes del nuevo número de Esquire España y no he hallado una forma mejor de desearos una buena semana, porque ¡Lo que bien empieza, bien acaba!

Que Andrés Velencoso es uno de los modelos españoles con más repercusión internacional junto a otros como Oriol Elcacho y Jon Kortajarena es algo que todos sabemos, pero hay fotografías como las de esta editorial que dejan bien claro por qué se han ganado el título de tops.

Razones para publicar este post no me faltan ¿Verdad?

Those of you who are fellow readers of this blog know that men’s fashion is one of my weak spots and that no so many times appear in a post – I am working in it, I promise to include some more once in a while – but some days ago I found these images of the new Esquire Spain issue and I haven’t found a better way for wishing you a great week, because as it is said all's well that starts well!

The fact that Andrés Velencoso is one of the Spanish models with more international impact together with Oriol Elcacho and Jon Kortajarena is something that all we know, but there are some photographs like the ones you see here which make clear why they have won the title of top models.

It is not necessary to write the reasons why I have decided to publish this post, is it?

Stella McCartney vs Chloé, Pre-Fall 2012 collections

Revisando las colecciones Pre-Fall 2012 me he dado cuenta de que no podía dejar de publicar estas dos y es que al igual que ocurre con las campañas publicitarias de las firmas las colecciones crucero y las Pre-Fall no suelen aparecer mucho por el blog, pero como buena admiradora de Stella McCartney y de Chloé en general que soy – lo era de Hannah McGibbon y lo soy de Clare Waight-Keller – no me he podido resistir a reseñar estas dos maravillas.

Personalmente me decanto por Chloé y por su buena elección de modelo, Jacquelyn Jablonski, y vosotros ¿Con cuál os quedaríais si os dieran a elegir entre ambas?

Looking trough the Pre-Fall 2012 collections I have realized that I could not keep on going without publishing this couple, the fact is that as it happens with the advertisement campaigns, the cruise collections and the Pre-Fall are not a high commented theme of the blog, but as I am a Stella McCartney and Chloé admirer – I was fan of Hannah McGibbon and now I am of Clare Waight-Keller- I haven’t been able not to review this two marvels.

Personally I opt for Chloé and for its good choice of the model, my beloved Jacquelyn Jablonski, and what about you? Which one would you choose if you can only chose one of them?

La edición limitada de la revista independiente A magazine sigue sorprendiendo, las aclamadas diseñadoras Kate y Laura Mulleavy han confiado en otra de sus incondicionales para este gran proyecto, si en las primera imágenes la hermana pequeña de las Fanning era la protagonista, en estas el eje principal es la actriz-modelo Kirsten Dunst pero ambas series de fotografías tienen un denominador común el estilo grunge-desenfadado tan característico de la firma.

En relación a lo que os comenté en el anterior post sobre este numero de A magazine, he estado investigando en Amazon y además del No. 1 de la revista por Maison Martin Margiela también se pueden encontrar algunos otros como el No. 9 de Proenza Schouler y el propio de Rodarte que ronda los 26 dólare, un precio más que asequible ¿No creéis?

The limited edition of the independent A magazine continues surprising, the acclaimed designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy have trusted in some of her wholehearted for this great project, if in the first images the youngest sister of the Fanning couple was the one who played the leading role, in these the principal axle is the actress-model Kirsten Dunst but both series of photographs have the same denominator the grunge and trashy style the brand has as main characteristic.

Related to what I commented you in the other post I wrote about this issue of A magazine, I have been searching in Amazon and more than the No.1 curated by Maison Martin Margiela I have also found the No. 9 by Proenza Schouler and this one by Rodarte which is about $26, cheap, isn't it?

Club Monaco Spring 2012, a soft and très chic collection!

Si bien el negro es el color par execellence, ese que jamás se pasa de moda y que aunque intenten sustituirlo temporada tras temporada por otros colores it, estos únicamente estarán en la cresta de la ola por un tiempo mientras que la valía del negro prevalecerá ante el paso de los años.

Sin embargo desde hace algunas temporadas hay un grupo de colores que están dañando la hegemonía del negro, entre ellos podemos encontrar todos los que veis en el lookbook Primavera 2012 de Club Monaco que presenta una colección très française y del que se pueden sacar muchas ideas de cara a la próxima estación gracias a unos looks estructurados en base a grandes firmas como Chloé, Céline o Isabel Marant. Lovely, isn’t it?

If the black is the color par excellence, that one which never is unfashionable and that although season after season it is tried to be substituted by some it colors, those will solely be riding on the crest of the wave for some time while the value of the black will prevail over the years.

Nonetheless from some time up to now a group of colors have tried to dismiss the total black, among them you can find all of the colors you can see in the Spring 2012 Club Monaco lookbook which introduces a collection très française and of which you can adopt some ideas facing the next season thanks to some looks based in big brands like Chloé, Céline or Isabel Marant. 'Mii Experiencia' and the launching of the new Seat Mii in Bilbao

Aitor Ocio has an amazing smile!

La semana pasada varias bloggers vizcaínas pudimos disfrutar de un inusual evento gracias a la marca española de automóviles Seat, la presentación del nuevo Seat Mii en el Palacio Ibaigane, que lejos de ser un simple lanzamiento escondía tras de sí alguna que otra sorpresilla.
La primera fue conocer al embajador del evento, el jugador del Athletic Club Aitor Ocio, quien a pesar de su lesión no quiso faltar a la cita.

Tras disfrutar de la presencia del jugador y conocer las características del Seat Mii nos dispusimos a seguir una ruta en un Mii que nos llevó a nuestro siguiente destino, la Yan Eskola del restaurante Yandiola de la Alhóndiga, donde pudimos degustar algunos magníficos platos cocinados por el gran chef Borja Etxebarria así como pasar un rato de lo más agradable.

Y para finalizar el recorrido el Club Metropolitan nos esperaba, uno de los gimnasios – spa más impresionantes de Bilbao.
Desde aquí solo me queda agradecer a los encargados de este evento así como a Seat por hacer de una presentación de un automóvil algo mucho más novedoso y sobre todo interactivo, ¡Gracias!

The last week some Biscayenne bloggers could enjoy an unusual event thanks to the Spanish car brand Seat, the launching of the new Seat Mii in the Ibaigane Palace, which far from being a simply presentation it hide some surprises.
The first one was to meet the ambassador of the event, the Athletic Club football player Aitor Ocio, who despite his injury didn’t want to miss the appointment.

After enjoying the presence of the football player and knowing the characteristics of the Seat Mii we got ready to follow a route in a Mii which addressed us to our next destination, the Yan Eskola part of the Alhóndiga’s restaurant Yandiola, where we could taste some splendid dishes cooked by the chef Borja Etxebarria so as a very nice time.

And to end up the route the Club Metropolitan awaited us, one of Bilbao’s most striking gym – spa.
I want to thank the people in charge of the event so as Seat for transforming a car launching in something more innovative and interactive, thank you!

Tras el mágico día de Reyes llega uno de los periodos más esperados por todos aquellos a los que nos encanta ir de tiendas, las rebajas, aunque algunos entre los que me incluyo apenas sí hemos podido echar algún que otro vistazo rápido porque para suerte de nuestros bolsillos, los exámenes están ya aquí.

Nevertheless as I commented you once, online shops are the solution of these setbacks because they don’t have opening hours and they are the first ones in reducing the prices, and as I have had almost no time to go shopping, these days I have searched virtually through hangers and piles and I have to admit that online sales have surprised me a lot and after this I must say that bargains are not in shops but on the Net, I have heard this many times but when you see it yourself is when you realize that is totally true.

And as the proof is in eating the pudding, these two items I show you in the post are reduced a 60 and a 40 per cent, they are bargains!

Una imagen mucho más dulce y aniñada es lo que proyecta Karlie Kloss en la nueva campaña de Free People - podéis verla al completo aquí -, acostumbrados a verla últimamente en papeles mucho más sexys, es bueno tanto para ella como para los que seguimos sus pistas que se involucre en editoriales y campañas más acordes con su edad, de esta manera no se encasillará y nosotros podremos seguir disfrutando de unas fotografías tan bonitas como estas, ¿O acaso soy yo la única que piensa esto del cambio brusco que ha dado Karlie en el último año?

Por cierto, ¡Espero que paséis un día genial rodeados de papeles de regalo y de los últimos turrones!

Louis Vuitton, Houdini and the circus inspired shop windows

En cualquier ámbito la historia del mismo lo es todo y en la moda ocurre exactamente igual, si bien es cierto que con el paso del tiempo y sobre todo gracias a la innovación tecnológica la moda ha sufrido cambios, por todos es sabido que esta no es más que una rueda similar a la de una ruleta de feria y la flecha de lo “in” varía alternativamente a medida que las manos maestras ejercen fuerza sobre ella.

Tras esta introducción sobre la gran importancia que tiene la historia en la moda voy a revelaros una anécdota de la maison Louis Vuitton en la cual se han basado los encargados de los escaparates de la firma para decorarlos tal y como podéis verlos a día de hoy, quizá algunos de vosotros ya la conozcáis pero puede que a otros os sorprenda.

La firma francesa nació a finales del siglo XIX y desde sus inicios estuvo muy relacionada con el mundo del circo, además el propio Vuitton y su familia eran grandes aficionados del espectáculo circense y la firma gozaba de una amplia lista de clientes que se dedicaban a esta especialidad artística, pero con la llegada de George Vuitton – 2ª generación – a los mandos de la firma algo cambió, la atracción de George por el aura mágica que rodeaba a los escapistas era aun mayor que la de su predecesor, tanto que le llevó a proponerle un reto al famosísimo Houdini.
Tras diseñar y patentar una cerradura de cinco ranuras que él consideraba impenetrable se dio cuenta de que tenía ante sí una gran estrategia publicitaria, contactaría con Houdini y le incitaría a aceptar el desafío que tenía en mente.
Sin demorarse demasiado, en Marzo de 1905 fue publicado el siguiente anuncio en prensa:
"Supongo que la maleta que usa para sus experimentos ha sido diseñada para su propio interés, por favor, déjeme que le rete a salir de un baúl realizado por mí mismo y cuyos clavos han sido clavados por mi personal, quien además le atará con una soga una vez haya entrado.
Si teme hacer frente a este experimento en público, le ofrezco la posibilidad de que sea en privado, la intención es que quede demostrado que el baúl es indestructible. Firmado: George Vuitton”.

Según algunas fuentes indican la fecha fijada fue el día 6 de ese mismo mes pero el resultado de este experimento es un secreto que ninguno de los dos llegó a revelar y que a día de hoy sigue siendo todo un misterio dentro de la propia maison.

After this introduction about the big importance the fashion history has I am going to reveal you an anecdote of the maison Louis Vuitton in wich are based the shop windows you can see right now, some of you may know the story but others can be surprised after reading it.

The French brand was established at the end of the XIXth century and from its beginnings it was much related to the circus world, moreover Vuitton and his family were big fans of the circus spectacle and the brand enjoyed a big list of customers which this artistic specialty was their life, but with the arrive of George Vuitton – the second generation – to the charges of the brand something changed, the attraction he felt for the magic aura escapists were surrounded by was bigger than his predecessor’s, so big it was that he dared to purposing a challenge to the famous Houdini.
After designing and patenting a lock with five key holes he considered impenetrable, he realized he had in front of his eyes a great marketing strategy, he would contact Houdini and he would incite him to accept the challenge he had in mind.
Without no delay in March of 1905 the following announce was published in the press:
‘I suppose that the suitcase you use for your experiments has been designed for your own interest, please, let me purpose you the challenge of coming out from a trunk I have designed and whose nails have been hammered by my personnel, who will also tie you with a rope once you are inside.
If you are afraid of facing this experiment in front people I offer you the opportunity to do it in private, the intention is to show the trunk is indestructible, signed: George Vuitton’.

Some sources assert that the date this experiment took place was the six of March but the result is a secret that no one of them revealed and that nowadays is still a mystery inside the maison.

I am head over heels for this sweater!

No hay fashionista que se precie que no haya llevado las uñas del color verde menta que Chanel puso de moda en su colección Otoño/Invierno 2009-2010 y que más tarde comercializó bajo la numeración 407 y el nombre específico del color, Jade, exactamente igual que la gema.

Pero la trayectoria de este precioso color no finaliza ahí, la marca sueca Acne ha querido llevarlo a un nivel más lanzando un par de jerséis que forman parte de su colección Resort Primavera/Verano 2012 y que según los carteles de sold out y no stock indican, están teniendo una acogida más que buena.

Personalmente creo que esta tonalidad será una gran apuesta para la primavera que viene, es más, ¡Creo que voy a necesitar alguna prenda en este color!

A lo largo de este tiempo he recibido muchos e-mails preguntándome sobre dominios, ¿Cuánto cuestan? ¿Cómo me paso del .blogspot.com a un .com, .es… etcétera? ….
Os he contestado a todos y cada uno de vosotros pero uno de los últimos días del pasado año recibí un correo sobre este tema que me angustió e incluso puedo decir que me dolió, y he visto necesario publicarlo.

Una blogger que además posee firma propia y de la cual os he hablado varias veces ha perdido su dominio y con ello muchos lectores, es por ello que este post se lo dedico a ella, porque nadie merece que otros le roben su esfuerzo, porque con comenzar una vez de cero y sacar una web adelante es suficiente y porque muchos de nosotros deberíamos tener más cuidado con las fechas de caducidad del dominio de nuestros blogs y webs.

Andrea Suárez autora del blog Diario de una estilista sufrió en sus propias carnes lo que es perder un trocito de sí misma, los correos de renovación del dominio le llegaban a la carpeta de spam y el día que caducó fue comprado por otra persona, alguien aprovechado con muy mala leche todo hay que decirlo.
La catástrofe ya estaba hecha y tal y como ella me comentaba en el correo se planteó abandonar el mundo blogger, sin embargo sacó fuerzas para comenzar otra vez abriendo un nuevo blog con el mismo nombre pero con un dominio .es y no .com como antes tenía.

Along this time I have received tones of emails asking me questions about domains, how much do they cost? How can I leave the .blogspot.com and upgrade it to a .com, .es… etc?…
I have answered all of you but one of the last days of the past year I received an email about this that really distressed me and even hurt me, and I have felt necessary to publish it.

A blogger who also owns her brand and of which I have talked about some times has lost her domain and with it lots of readers, is because of that this post is dedicated to her, because no one deserves to see how her effort is stolen, because is enough to start all over again once and get ahead a web, and because we should care much more when talking about the expiry date of our blog and web domain.

Andrea Suárez writer of the blog Diario de una estilista suffered oneself what is to lose a small piece of her, the renovation emails were on her spam folder and the day that it expired it was bought by other person, a nasty opportunist to put the terms clear.
The catastrophe was done and as she told me in that email she think about abandoning the blogger world, nonetheless she achieved to draw strength from where there wasn't any and open a new blog with the same name but with a .es domain instead of the .com she had before.

If you want to encourage her visit her new blog, Diario de una estilista, she will be grateful if you do it.

Some amazing S/S 2012 campaigns

Como bien dice la ya tradicional frase hecha “Año nuevo, vida nueva” el 2012 llega pisando fuerte en lo que a nuevas campañas publicitarias se refiere, como muchos sabréis no soy dada a publicar este tipo de posts, sin embargo esta vez me ha sido imposible no hacerlo, ¡Hay campañas que tienen un je ne sais quoi que me fascina!

El minimalismo de Chanel o Max Mara que coinciden en la elección de Saskia de Brauw como imagen de la firma, – además en la campaña de la maison francesa aparece bien acompañada por Joan Smalls –, la atmósfera edulcorada de Louis Vuitton así como la casi tétrica de Givenchy o la imagen de Raquel Zimmermann corriendo como una cenicienta que llega tarde a casa tomada por Inez & Vinoodh para Nina Ricci son algunas de mis favoritas.
La recién publicada de Longchamp también tiene un “algo” que me encanta pero lo que más me ha llamado la atención de ella es la vuelta de Coco Rocha, una modelo que muchos creían retirada del mundo de los flashes y pasarelas.
Fendi y Mulberry también tienen su huequito en este post, la fuerza de Arizona Muse y el buen rollo de la campaña de Mulberry protagonizada por Frida Gustavsson y Lindsey Wixson han logrado captar mi atención.
Y por último solo me queda mencionar la de Hugo by Hugo Boss que ha acertado de lleno con los modelos, Sean O’Pry y Freja Beha ¿Qué más se puede pedir?

As the traditional phrase says ‘New year, new life’ 2012 arrives making splash referring to advertising campaigns, most of you may know that I don’t usually write this type of posts, nonetheless this time has been really impossible not to do it, there are some campaigns which have a je ne sais quoi that fascinate me!

The minimalism of Chanel or Max Mara which coincide in the choice of Saskia de Brauw as image of the brand, – moreover in the campaign of the French maison she appears well accompanied by Joan Smalls –, the Louis Vuitton sweetened atmosphere so as the almost gloomy one by Givenchy or the image of Raquel Zimmermann running like a Cinderella who arrives late at home photographed by Inez & Vinoodh for Nina Ricci, are some of my favorites.
The recently published one by Longchamp has also ‘something’ I really like but what has really attracted my attention is the comeback of Coco Rocha, a model that some people thought she was withdrawal of the world.
Fendi and Mulberry have also their hole in this post, the strength of Arizona Muse and the good feeling of Mulberry's campaign starred by Frida Gustavsson and Lindsey Wixson have achieved to attract my attention.
Lastly I only have to mention the Hugo by Hugo Boss one, they have made a good choice of the models, Sean O’Pry and Freja Beha, what else can we ask for?

Como bien todos sabemos hoy es el día indicado para hacer balance, pensar algunos propósitos para el año venidero y sobre todo para echar la vista atrás e intentar quedarnos con lo bueno de estos 365 días que nos ha brindado el 2011.

Pues bien, dejando al margen mi vida 1.0 y centrándome únicamente en el blog he de decir que el 2011 ha sido un gran año y todo ¡Gracias a vosotros!
Este año me he reencontrado con viejos conocidos con los que he compartido momentos inolvidables - recorrer Madrid junto a Piter y Laura o compartir tarta de zanahoria y largas charlas con Iris son dos de esos momentos inolvidables - , he conocido a algunos de mis diseñadores de cabecera del panorama nacional como Ana Locking o Elena Martin de Martin Lamothe, me he ilusionado al colaborar en algunos proyectos de los que jamás pensé que podría formar parte, he compartido idas y venidas del 14.1 de Ifema con algunos bloggers a los que les he cogido muchísimo cariño – Sue, Clara, Erea, Cynthia, Rocío, Rebeca, Patricia… –, he conocido a otros con los que me hubiera gustado estar un ratito más y que espero estarlo dentro de no mucho, pero sobre todo creo que este año ha sido tan bueno porque vosotros seguís estando ahí, día tras día, post tras post ¡Muchísimas gracias a todos!

Y ahora sí ¡Feliz año 2012!

As we already know it today is the suitable day to evaluate the whole year, to think some purposes for the future year and above all, for looking back and try to keep in our minds the good things which happened during these 365 days that 2011 has offered us.

Well, leaving to one side my 1.0 life and centering my attention in the blog I have to say that 2011 has been a good year and it is all because of you!
This year I have met again some old acquaintances with I have shared unforgettable moments – scouring Madrid with Piter and Laura or sharing carrot cake and talking a lot with Iris are two of this unforgettable moments – the trip to Madrid I did with Piter and Laura is a very clear example –, I have met some of my favorite designers from the national scene so as Ana Locking or Elena Martin from Martin Lamothe, I have got excited about collaborating in some projects I have never thought I could take part in, I have shared comes and goes in the Ifema’s 14.1 pavilion with some bloggers I am really fond of – Sue, Clara, Erea, Cynthia, Rocío, Rebeca, Patricia… –, I have met some others with I would have liked to stay a little more and I hope I will in a near future, but above all I think that this year has been such good because you continue being there, day after day, post after post, thank you very much!

And one last thing, happy New Year 2012!

Como siempre después de cada Semana de la Moda la web se llena de tendencias incipientes, de nuevas style icons y de una cantidad ingente de prendas, bolsos y accesorios de temporada, es decir, esos “imprescindibles” que todas aquellas que puedan permitírselos deberían tener en el armario para estar al día.

Tras la pasada Paris Fashion Week un par de fotografías captaron mi atención – para ser exactos fueron las dos que veis al principio del post – y empecé a investigar cual era la firma de ese precioso clutch que tanto Alexa Chung como algunas modelos de la talla de Frida Gustavsson o Ruby Aldrige ya tenían en su haber y no me fue demasiado difícil encontrar la respuesta, Valentino es el culpable de este boom.

El nombre del clutch es bien sencillo y representativo Valentino rockstud leather clutch y su precio ronda los 800€, un ~~pequeño~~ gran capricho para las más afortunadas.

As always happens after each Fashion Week the web fills up with lots of incipient trends, style icons and of a huge quantity of seasonal clothes, handbags and accessories, those ‘indispensable items’ that all the women who can afford them should have in their wardrobes to stay up-to-date.

After the last Paris Fashion Week a couple of photographs attracted my attention – to be exact they were the both you can see on the top of the post – and I started to investigate what was the brand of that marvelous clutch that Alexa Chung and some models of renown like Frida Gustavsson or Ruby Aldrige already have and it was not difficult for me to find the answer, Valentino is the guilty of this boom.

The name of the clutch is very simple and representative Valentino rockstud leather clutch and it is about 800€, a ~~little~~ big whim for the most lucky women.

Unos looks algo más sofisticados y atrevidos que los del anterior post forman la segunda y última parte de la editorial que tal y como os comenté ayer, llevamos a cabo el pasado domingo unas cuantas bloggers vizcaínas.

Desde aquí quiero dar las gracias a Juancar, el fotógrafo, a Estebaliz Zabala, la encargada de peluquería y maquillaje, a Pilar, el alma creativa de La boutique de la Srta Bamboo, a las tiendas que nos cedieron la ropa que veis en las fotografías y al hotel palacio Urgoiti.
Pero si alguien merece un gracias en mayúsculas esa es Laura, por tener esta gran idea, confiar en nosotras y sobre todo por estar al pie del cañón, por todo ello ¡GRACIAS!

A little bit more sophisticated and daring looks than the ones I published yesterday belong to this second and last part of the editorial that as I commented you before, we shoot the last Sunday a group of Biscayan bloggers.

Una idea y muchas ganas e ilusión fueron las razones principales que nos llevaron a realizar esta editorial de moda el pasado domingo, y como bien dijo una de las bloggers que se esconde detrás de Me paso el día comprando, sin obligaciones publicitarias simplemente porque nos gusta hacer esto.

Goizane de Me myself and my wardrobe, Izortze de Clochet y yo no dudamos en aceptar la proposición que hace no mucho nos hicieron Anatxu, Meritxell y Laura de llevar a cabo una editorial con vistas a las fiestas navideñas, editorial en la que hicimos de modelos tal y como podéis ver en las fotografías.
Los preparativos y la elección de la ropa para el shooting en La vie en rose, Coquette y Chez elle, tres de las tiendas más especiales de Bilbao aumentaron nuestras ganas de posar delante de Juancar, todo un profesional de la fotografía, además cuando conocimos el emplazamiento donde tendría lugar la sesión de fotos nuestra emoción aumentó aún más, ¡El palacio Urgoiti! Un palacio ubicado entre Bilbao y Mungia que fue construido a finales del siglo XVII y reconstruido entre los años 2004 y 2005, en resumen, un sitio espectacular.
Pero por si esto fuera poco contamos con la experimentada maquilladora Estebaliz Zabala que se encargó de la peluquería y maquillaje, y con unos collares de lo más bonitos obra de la boutique de la Srta Bamboo, ¡Espero que el resultado os guste tanto como a mí!

Ha sido tan complicado elegir las fotografías que he decidido dividir la editorial en dos, mañana publicaré la segunda parte así que stay tuned!

One idea and tones of love and thrill were the main reasons that lead us to carry out this fashion editorial the last Sunday, and as one of the bloggers hidden behind Me paso el día comprando wrote we did it without advertising obligations simply because we love doing this.

Goizane from Me myself and my wardrobe, Izortze from Clochet and I didn’t doubt even a minute and we accepted the proposal that Anatxu, Meritxell and Laura suggested us of making an editorial overlooking Christmas parties and events, editorial in which we model as you can see in the photographs.
The preparations and the selection of the clothes for the shooting in La vie en rose, Coquette and Chez elle, three of the most special shops in Bilbao increase our wishes of posing in front of Juancar’s lens, a professional photographer, moreover when we knew the location where it would have place the shooting our emotion was increased much more, the Urgoiti palace! A palace situated between Bilbao and Mungia that was built at the end of the XVIIth century and was rebuilt in 2004-2005, to sum up, a spectacular place.
But if this was not enough we count with the experience of the make-up artist Estebaliz Zabala who was the person in charge of hairdressing and make-up, and with some nice necklaces made by la boutique de la Sta Bamboo, I hope you like the result as much as I do!

It has been such a hard work for me to select the photographs that I have decided to divide the editorial in two, tomorrow I will publish the second part, stay tuned!

Hay regalos que quizá no sean los más impresionantes, caros o lujosos pero por diferentes motivos te llegan muy adentro, y este es el caso.

Hace ya casi un mes que se celebró en Bilbao la sexta edición de Fitting Room, evento donde me enamoré de este brazalete de la colección Steampunk de Jazz Fashion, la palabra ‘Hope’ circunda los diferentes mecanismos del reloj que un día hicieron funcionar y que hoy forman esta pieza casi única.
Tras llegar a casa un par de espías supieron al instante que ese sería mi regalo de Navidad y acertaron, pocas veces me ha hecho tanta ilusión un regalo, sobre todo porque sé lo que les ha costado conseguirlo, una vez más ¡Muchísimas gracias!

¡Espero que vuestro Olentzero o Papá Noel haya sido tan mágico como el mío!

There are some presents that may not be the most shocking, expensive or luxurious ones but for different reasons they make a deep impression on you and this is the case.

One month ago the Fitting Room event was hold in Bilbao and I fell in love with this bracelet from Jazz Fashion Steampunk collection, the word ‘Hope’ encircle the different mechanisms of the watch they made work and that nowadays are part of this almost unique piece.
After arriving home two spies knew at once that this would be my Christmas present and they hit the mark, there are no lots of presents which have really excited me like this one, above all because I know it hasn’t been easy for them to get, once again, thank you very much!

I hope your Christmas presents are as magic as mine!

He intentado resistirme a publicar este post ya que el Káiser no es santo de mi devoción pero por una vez la parte más visible de la maison francesa ha hecho algo que realmente me ha emocionado, y no, no me estoy refiriendo a ninguna de sus últimas colecciones ni siquiera de la elección de Alice Dellal como nueva imagen de la firma, estoy hablando de su colección low cost para net-a-porter.

Al parecer dicha colección constará de 70 piezas, accesorios incluidos, con una paleta cromática que va desde el negro pasando por el gris o el blanco hasta colores más vivos como el rosa, plata o granate.
Hasta el momento solo podemos guiarnos por lo que transmiten estos cinco looks publicados por Marie Claire Uk a modo de preview, pero visto el revuelo causado por ellos y la calidad de los mismos creo que Karl ha dado en el clavo, ahora solo queda esperar a que llegue el 25 de Enero y estar preparados para el boom.

Para las interesadas, los precios de la colección van desde los 50 dólares hasta los 1000 que alcanzan algunas prendas de cuero.

I have tried not to publish this post because the Kaiser is not saint in my book but for almost the first time the most visible side of the French maison has done something which has really excited me, and no, I am not referring to none of his last collections neither to the choice of Alice Dellal as the new image of the brand, I am talking about the low-cost collection for net-a-porter he has designed.

The collection will apparently consist of 70 items, accessories included, with a chromatic palette which goes from black, grey or white to some more vibrant colors like pink, silver or burgundy.
Until this moment we can only be guided by what these five looks published by Marie Claire Uk transmit, but if we watch the stir they have caused and the quality of them I think that Karl has hit the mark, now we only have to wait till the 25th of January and be prepared for the boom.

Mulleavy sisters editors-in-chief of A magazine latest issue

Una vez más la actriz de apenas trece años de edad Elle Fanning aparece arropada por las hermanas Mulleavy haciendo gala de las impresionantes creaciones de estas bajo el nombre de su firma, Rodarte.

Hace días que la revista bianual A magazine anunció que Rodarte serían las editoras del nuevo número de esta publicación dedicada a la parte más puramente artística del mundo de la moda, en ella las famosas diseñadoras han decidido publicar un lookbook de su preciosa colección de alta costura.

Diez vestidos ni más ni menos han sido utilizados para esta editorial en la que el gran Bill Owens ha puesto su granito de arena tras el objetivo consiguiendo un aire grunge y urbano que tan difícil es de combinar con unas creaciones de haute couture.

Como curiosidad he de añadir que el primer número de esta revista firmado por Martin Margiela ronda los 600 dólares en Amazon y se ha convertido en todo un objeto de culto y deseo ¿Cuánto creéis que alcanzará este de Rodarte?

Once again the thirteen year old actress Elle Fanning appears protected by the Mulleavy sisters displaying some of her stunning designs under the name of their brand, Rodarte.

Some days ago the biannual magazine A magazine announced that Rodarte would be the editors in chief of the new issue of this publication dedicated to the most purely artistic side of fashion, in it the famous designers have decided to publish a lookbook of their marvelous haute couture collection.

Ten dresses no more nor less have been used for this editorial in which the great Bill Owens has done his bit behind the lens achieving a grunge and urban air which is very difficult to combine with haute couture creations.

And as a curiosity I want to add that the first issue of this magazine signed by Martin Margiela is about 600 dollars in Amazon and it has turned into a cult object, how much do you think the Rodarte one will cost?

Como ya os he comentado más de una vez me vuelven loca las webs de street style y aunque muchos sostienen que ha alcanzado el nivel de “muy visto”, creo que hay algunas que tienen tal calidad fotográfica que es imposible no tirarse horas viendo más y más capturas.

Uno de mis webs favoritas es sin duda Citizen Couture y es ahí donde hace pocos días encontré estas dos fotografías de Jacquelyn Jablonski, una modelo que según mi punto de vista tiene mucha personalidad, ¿Quién si no ella podía hacer femenino un look tan masculino?
Os enseñaría más fotografías que he sacado de esta web pero lo mejor que podéis hacer es perderos en ella, os advierto, provoca adicción.

As I have told you more than once, street style webs drive me crazy and although lots of people asset that it has reached a ‘very commonplace’ level, I think that some of them have so high photographic quality that it is impossible not to spend hours seeing and analyzing more and more photographs.

One of my favorite webs is without a doubt Citizen Couture and is there where some days ago I found these two photographs in which Jacquelyn Jablonski appears, a model who from my point of view has lots of personality, who if not her could make feminine a so masculine look?
I would show you more photographs I have saved from this web but I think that the best you can do is to get lost in it, I advise you it is addictive.

Sarah-Jane Clarke y Heidi Middleton son las cabezas pensantes que se esconden detrás de Sass & Bide, una de las firmas más impactantes del continente australiano y por supuesto una de mis favoritas de la Semana de la Moda de Londres.

Después de la colorida colección que presentaron para este Otoño/Invierno 2011-2012 llega Seekerstate llena de cashmere, ante y algodón, con algún que otro brillo y repleta de referencias náuticas como el uso del color block tangerina o rojo y azul oscuro.

Su lookbook se hizo público hace poco tiempo y el estilo ninfa de Nicole Pollard y la preciosa iluminación del shooting han enamorado a muchos, a mí entre ellos, ¿Y vosotros qué opináis?

Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton are the thinking brains which hid behind Sass and Bide, one of the most shocking brands of the Australian continent and of course one of my favorites of the London Fashion Week.

After the colorful collection showed off for this 2011-2012 Fall/Winter, Seekerstate arrived full of cashmere, suede and cotton, with some sparkling items and filled with nautical references like the use of tangerine or red plus dark blue color block.

Este es el caso de Andrej Pejic, el andrógino y camaleónico modelo del que os he hablado anteriormente - aquí y aquí -, pero más allá de posar o desfilar como una modelo femenina más, esta vez se ha atrevido con el más difícil todavía, hacer una campaña para una marca de lencería.La cadena de tiendas de ropa interior Hema ha sido la que ha llevado a cabo el revolucionario set de fotografías, ¿El motivo? Lanvin Petite Collection presentation at Ritz Paris

A principios del mes de Diciembre un curioso y original evento tuvo lugar en el hotel Ritz París, con motivo de la llegada de Petite Collection de Lanvin a las tiendas, la primera colección para peques de la firma francesa, una Tea Party exclusiva para los más pequeños fue llevada a cabo en uno de los salones más bonitos del conocido hotel parisino, el Louis XV.

Una insólita fiesta cuyo objetivo no era únicamente el lanzamiento de Petite Collection, si no que durante esta velada Didier Steudier chef del Ritz París y el propio Alber Elbaz ensalzaron la tarta de chocolate ganadora del concurso que Lanvin llevó a cabo durante el pasado mes de Noviembre, y que consistía en un llamamiento para que madres e hijas aunasen fuerzas y presentasen lo que según ellas era “La mejor receta de tarta de chocolate”, así como un ejemplar de la misma, ¿Curioso verdad?

La atmósfera del lugar no pudo ser más apropiada para la ocasión, globos de colores, juguetes varios e incluso un teatro en miniatura hicieron las delicias de los más pequeños, mientras sus padres disfrutaban de té y pastas francesas y admiraban a su vez las pequeñas joyas que Lanvin había creado.

At the beginning of December a cute and original event took place in the Ritz of Paris, to mark the arrival of Lanvin Petite Collection to shops, the first collection for kids of the French brand, a Tea Party exclusive for kids which was celebrated in one of the most marvelous reception rooms of the Parisian hotel, the Louis XV.

An unusual party whose objective was not only the launch of the Petite Collection, even though during this evening Didier Steudier chef of the Ritz Paris and Alber Elbaz praise the winner chocolate cake of the contest Lanvin held during November, and which consisted in a call for mothers and daughters to join forces and present the ‘Best chocolate cake recipe’, so as an example of it, a curious contest, isn’t it?

The atmosphere of the place couldn’t be more appropriated for the occasion, colorful balloons, toys and even a small theater delighted the children while their parents enjoyed tea and some French patisseries and admired at the same time the treasures designed by Lanvin.

Hay personas emprendedoras por naturaleza, gente que tiene una serie de inquietudes o dones gracias a los cuales son capaces de crear maravillas y una de esas personas es Arantza, Arantza Saez de Lafuente para ser exactos.

Dando vueltas por diferentes webs de street style he caído en la cuenta que aunque tanto el plateado como el dorado son los it colors del momento, este último es el que realmente está pisando fuerte.

Viéndolo desde un lado objetivo el mix de negro, cuero y accesorios dorados es una buena fórmula si el resultado esperado es el estilo rockero y underground, pero he de confesar que yo soy fan de plateado, es más, pocas veces llevo algo dorado, pero como en otras ocasiones ya me ha ocurrido puede que de aquí a no mucho tiempo tenga que retractarme.

De vez en cuando y solamente cuando dispongo de tiempo suficiente una de las cosas que más me gustan es pasearme por diferentes tiendas online, hay algunas que son una verdadera maravilla y tienes ofertas irresistibles, aunque también me gusta torturarme y visitar otras que están dentro de mi grupo “se mira pero no se toca”, si nunca antes lo habéis probado es genial, ¡Si tenéis suerte quizá encontréis verdaderas gangas!

Como ya os comenté la semana pasada que había una segunda parte del shooting con Aristocrazy ¡Aquí la tenéis! mucho más rockera, desenfadada y divertida que la anterior, ¡La verdad es que pasamos un rato genial y las fotografías me gustan mucho!

Desde aquí me gustaría dar las gracias a toda la organización del evento pero especialmente al fotógrafo Gabriel Galíndez, a Jaime Galíndez y a Juan, el estilista, fueron todos unos cielos.

As I mentioned last week there is a second part of the shooting with Aristocrazy, and here you have! rocker, rebel and funnier than the other one I showed you the other day, the truth is that we spent a great time and I like a lot the final photographs!

Cozy and cute underwear campaigns by Women'secret

Tras todo este tiempo con el blog he aprendido muchas cosas entre las que hoy me gustaría destacar la fotografía, una herramienta esencial en lo que a marketing y publicidad se refiere, porque tal y como recoge la cita de Berenice Abbott “La fotografía ayuda a la gente a ver” y eso es precisamente lo que buscan las marcas, ser vistas, observadas y deseadas por el resto del mundo.

Sin embargo lejos de caer en la obscenidad – algo muy a la orden del día por desgracia – hay una marca de ropa interior cuyos lookbooks son siempre un soplo de aire fresco, naturalidad y sencillez. Sí, estoy hablando de Women’secret.

Unas campañas íntimas, cálidas y sobre todo muy femeninas avalan a la firma nacida en 1993 bajo el lema “Ropa íntima para mujeres creada por mujeres”, además W’s se ha sumado a la revolución tecnológica lanzando una App para iPhone ¡Espero que lancen pronto la de Blackberry!

Os dejo con algunas fotografías de sus dos últimas campañas, Otoño 2011 e Invierno 2011-2012 así como con otras de la que hicieron públicas en 2007 con el nombre “Descubre tu talla” iniciativa mediante la cual intentaron que sus clientas descubrieran su talla correcta de sujetador ya que se había comprobado que alrededor del 70% de las mujeres la ignoraban con las fatales consecuencias para su salud.

Intimate, warm and overall very feminine campaigns borne out this brand born in 1993 under the slogan ‘Underwear for women created by women’, furthermore W’s has joined in the technologic revolution releasing an App for iPhone, I hope they launch one for Blackberry soon!

To end this post, here you have some photographs from its last campaigns Fall 2011 and Winter 2011-2012 so as some other they made public in 2007 with the name ‘Discover your size’, an initiative through which they tried to help their customers discover their correct bra size because it was tested that the 70 per cent women ignored it with terrible consequences for their health

Atelier Versace Fall/Winter 2011-2012 photoshoot, behind the scenes

Una de las noticias más sonadas de los últimos meses junto a la desaparición de D&G ha sido la vuelta a las pasarelas de Versace Atelier que tras siete años de ausencia volverá a desfilar el próximo Enero en la Semana de la Moda de París, ya que aunque la firma no ha dejado de crear diseños mágicos, estos solo eran presentados en pases privados para prensa y clientes.

Es por esta razón por lo que he decidido publicar estas fotografías del making-off del photoshoot de la última colección dirigida por Donatella en la que los prints vintage creados por Gianni Versace son rescatados de los archivos y plasmados por primera vez sobre los diseños, un bonito recuerdo del diseñador que puede ser llevado solamente por un pequeño grupo de mujeres, unas mujeres Versace.

One of the much-talked-about news of the last months has been the come back to the catlwaks of Atelier Versace which after seven years of absence is going to parade on the catwalk the next January in Paris Fashion Week, because although the brand hasn’t stopped creating magic designs, these were launched in private shows only suitable for press and clients.

It is because of this reason that I have decided to publish this set of photographs which belong to the making-off of the last collection photoshoot in which vintage prints created by Gianni Versace are rescued from the archives and captured for the first time on the designs, a nice memory of the designer which can be worn only by a small women group, the Versace women.

Aristocrazy arrives in Bilbao, madness is here!

Los que seguís mi blog desde hace tiempo sabéis que no suelo publicar fotografías mías y que únicamente lo hago en determinados momentos, como cuando voy a algún evento o me proponen cosas del tipo de la que me propuso Aristocrazy hace no mucho tiempo.

Bajo el lema “Fashion Picnic” la marca joven y un poco más alocada de la joyería Suárez llega a Bilbao y para su lanzamiento ha contado con algunas empresarias y varias bloggers entre las que me encuentro, el plan era bien sencillo, una sesión de fotos en la que luciríamos las joyas de la firma, los que me seguís por Twitter os enterasteis los primeros de que andaba metida en este lío, y un evento que tuvo lugar ayer y en el que pudimos ver el resultado final de cada uno de los shootings.
En resumen, ¡Una maravilla!

Pero para maravillas las de Aristocrazy de las cuales incluiré alguna en mi carta a los Reyes Magos, porque para las más reticentes a las grandes marcas por sus excesivos precios ¡No hay problema!, hay pequeñas preciosidades a precios de lo más asequibles, yo que vosotras le echaría un vistazo a su web.

If you follow my blog since some time ago you know that I don’t usually publish photographs in which I appear and that I solely do it in certain circumstances, when I go to an event or someone purposes me things like this one that Aristocrazy suggested me not a long time ago.

Under the ‘Fashion Picnic’ ad slogan the young and craziest brand of Suárez jewelry arrives in Bilbao and for its launching they have counted with some businesswomen and bloggers among of which I am, the plan was very simple, a shooting in which we would show off the jewelry of the brand, those of you who follow me via Twitter knew it at once that I was inside this funny mess, and an event that was celebrated yesterday in which we were able to see the final result of each shooting.
To sum up, a great wonder!

But if we talk about wonders I can’t pass the opportunity to mention the ones designed by Aristocrazy which some of them are going to be written in the letter I will sent to the Three Wise Men, because if you are reluctant of big brands with excessive prices, there is no problem! There are some lovely items that have affordable prices, if I were in your place I would visit its web.

Lady Gaga covers Vanity Fair January 2012 issue

Uno de los números más importantes de las revistas junto con el de Septiembre es indudablemente el de Enero, ya que con este se da comienzo a un nuevo año, y aunque muchos piensen que algunas celebrities como Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé o Rihanna están muy expuestas y quizá demasiado a la orden del día, la edición americana de Vanity Fair ha decidido dedicarle la portada del primer número del próximo año 2012 ni más ni menos que a la mother monster, Lady Gaga.

Unas cuidadas fotografías obra de Annie Leivobitz conforman la editorial central que ha hecho sonar las alarmas, gracias en gran parte a un desnudo completo de la cantante junto a Tony Bennett y a un boceto de la propia artista realizado por este que también será publicado en el número de Enero de la revista.

Una vez más Lady Gaga ha vuelto a sorprender al personal, ¿Qué será lo próximo que veremos de la excéntrica cantante?

One of the most important magazine issues together with the September one is undoubtedly the January issue, because with its launching a new year starts, and although that lots of people think that some celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé, Rihanna or Lady Gaga are overexposed and maybe a little bit too present, the US Vanity Fair edition has decided to dedicate the cover of the first issue of the next 2012 year nor more neither less than to the mother monster Lady Gaga.

Sheer and lace, with or without underwear?

A finales de la semana pasada un par de fotografías vieron la luz y desencadenaron un truculento debate, ¿La moda tiene límites? Si es así ¿Dónde están? Y mejor aún ¿Deberíamos ponerle límites para que esta no roce lo inmoral?

Hace ya tiempo que las transparencias, el encaje e incluso el crochet son considerados como grandes tendencias a tener en cuenta por todo aquel que le guste ir a la moda, se ha visto mucho street style al respecto y miles de revistas se han hecho eco de ellas, sin embargo sobre la pasarela y en las editoriales ha habido una pequeña variación en cuanto al vestuario, normalmente a pie de calle las transparencias han sido llevadas con ropa interior, es decir, insinuando más que enseñando, al contrario que en los ámbitos más puramente artísticos en los que las modelos lucían estas tendencias sin nada más que la prenda en sí, hasta aquí todo correcto, ¿Pero qué ocurre cuando esto se lleva al día a día?

Mr. Newton, una conocida web de street style, fotografió a la blogger Eleonora Carisi tal y como podéis observar al final del post, pero no teniendo suficiente con el escándalo que desataron estas instantáneas, la modelo, actriz y cantante Charlotte Kemp Muhl decidió seguir el ejemplo de esta italiana y salir a la calle sin ocultar sus pechos bajo ningún tipo de ropa interior.

Y ahora bien ¿Hay tendencias que únicamente son válidas para la pasarela o creéis que todo puede ser llevado tal y como lo vemos en las esferas de la moda?

Mr. Newton, a well known street style web, captured the blogger Eleonora Carisi in the way you can see her at the end of the post, but not having enough with the scandal they sparked off, the model, actress and singer Charlotte Kemp Muhl decided to follow the example of this Italian girl and go out without hiding her breasts under any underwear.

Fitting Room, the sixth edition

Ayer tuvo lugar la sexta edición de una curiosa forma de exposición, Fitting Room, una vez más las habitaciones del hotel Meliá se llenaron de color, entusiasmo, dedicación e imaginación mucha imaginación.

Diseñadores como Zepequeña volvían a sorprender, por su frescura y naturalidad y por la originalidad de los complementos, Inés Susaeta me dejó sin habla por segunda vez y me volví loca con las joyas de la colección Steampunk de Jazz Fashion.
Los complementos y decoración de Mimako me dejaron boquiabierta y la ternura que desprendían los bolsos y bolsitos de Happy Horn conmovieron a más de una, ¡Tienen un tacto inmejorable!, y como descubrimiento en tema textil me quedo con Xoanyu y sus influencias folk y 70’s y Cuarto Colorado y sus divertidos estampados aplicados a paraguas, gabardinas y botas de agua.

Espero que este evento vuelva pronto a la ciudad donde comenzó, es la segunda vez que asisto y prometo seguir haciéndolo, me parece una forma cuanto menos curiosa de dar proyección a marcas y diseñadores noveles quizá no tan conocidas, además después de la visita volvimos a juntarnos un montón de bloggers vascas en una comida que fue de lo más entretenida y simpática, ¡Espero volver a veros pronto!

Yesterday took place the sixth edition of Fitting Room, a curious way of exhibition, once again the rooms of the Meliá hotel were full of colours, enthusiasm, dedication and imagination, tones of imagination.

Designers like Zepequeña surprised everyone again because of its freshness and naturalness and also of the originality of the accessories, Inés Susaeta left me speechless for the second time in a row and the jewelry of the Steampunk collection of Jazz Fashion drove me crazy.
The accessories and decoration of Mimako left me flabbergasted and the tenderness that gave off the bags and handbags signed by Happy Horn moved more than one person, they have an excellent touch!, and as discovery in the textile theme I liked Xoanyu and its folk and 70’s influence and Cuarto Colorado and its funny prints applied in umbrellas, trenchs and wellingtons.

I hope this event comes back soon to the city where it begun, this is the second time I have attended and I promise to continue doing it, I think this is a great way of making known new brands and designers which they may be not be very famous, furthermore after the visit a group of Basque bloggers gathered and have lunch together, I spent a really great time with all of you!

Rag & Bone DIY: Real women, real beauty

La belleza es un tema que ha sido idealizado hasta límites insospechados en la industria de la fotografía al igual que en la de la moda, pero si bien Kate Moss rompió con aquello de que una modelo tenía que medir un más número concreto de centímetros para triunfar, desde hace unos años ha quedado patente que la belleza es algo aleatorio, difícil de definir y muy subjetivo.

Sin embargo las revistas siguen intentando vendernos esa imagen de wonderwoman y wonderman utilizando métodos que difuminan la realidad, como el tan alabado y a la vez criticado Photoshop, por este motivo me encanta la iniciativa DIY de Rag & Bone mediante la cual se han dado a conocer fotografías de modelos de la talla de Miranda Kerr o Candice Swanepoel sin maquillaje, con un par de vaqueros y posando delante de un cámara nada profesional – en el caso de Miranda sus fotógrafos fueron su marido Orlando Bloom y su amiga la también modelo Hilary Rhoda -, además esta no es la primera campaña del estilo que lleva a cabo la marca americana, esta primavera lanzó una bajo el nombre ‘Models by models’ cuyo eje central era el mismo, la belleza real.

Un paso adelante en la batalla contra el uso excesivo de programas de tratamiento de imágenes en anuncios y fotografía en general a la que ya se sumó Elle hace un par de años y que Dove lleva tiempo defendiendo a capa y espada, ¿Quién será el siguiente?

Beauty is a theme that has been idealized till unsuspected limits in photography and fashion industry, but if Kate Moss ended with that topic which said that a model had to be taller than a concrete number of centimeters to be successful, from some years on is clearly that beauty is something fortuitous, difficult to define and very subjective.

Nonetheless magazines are still trying to sell the wonderwoman and wonderman image by using some methods which blur the reality, like the so praised but also criticized Photoshop, because of this I really like the DIY initiative developed by Rag & Bone thanks to which have been published some photographs of models like Miranda Kerr or Candice Swanepaoel, in which they appear with no make up, wearing a pair of jeans and striking a pose behind the lens of a non professional camera – in Miranda’s case the photographers were his husband Orlando Bloom and her friend the model Hilary Rhoda -, furthermore this is not the first campaign of the American brand, this Spring another one called ‘Models by models’ was launched and his central axe was the same as in this one, the real beauty.

A step forward in the battle against the excessive use of image treatment programs in advertisements and photography in general which Elle joined in a couple of years ago and which Dove has been defending for ages, who will be the next one?

Si hay algo que realmente me vuelve loca son los anillos grandes seguido de los collares y brazaletes diferentes y peculiares, motivos por los cuales no he podido resistirme a publicar el lookbook de Bjorg, una marca noruega que comenzó sus andanzas en 2004 y que a día de hoy ha sido incluida en editoriales de revistas de gran tirada y repercusión como son Vogue París, Vogue Italia, Dazed & Confused o i-D.

Sus principales fuentes de inspiración son el Surrealismo, los mitos antiguos y los experimentos de Charles Darwin, es por ello que tal y como Bjørg Nordli-Mathisen, la cabeza pensante que se encuentra tras estas maravillas afirma: “Siempre hay un nexo de unión entre la magia puramente industrial y la propia joya”.

Si os habéis encaprichado de alguno de los diseños podéis pasaros por su tienda online y empezar a escribir la carta a los Reyes Magos, ¡Quién sabe si el próximo Enero tendréis la suerte de que os traigan alguna de estas joyas!

'Future memory' - The Valentino Garavani online fashion museum

El próximo 5 de Diciembre la moda sufrirá un cambio, una evolución que esta vez implica al mundo 2.0 de lleno, Valentino Garavani y su socio Giancarlo Giammetti han fijado esa fecha como día del lanzamiento de “El museo virtual Valentino Garavani”, toda una revolución de las formas de exhibición y exposición utilizadas hasta ahora.

"Lo veo como parte de mi legado. Estoy feliz porque miles de estudiantes, jóvenes diseñadores y gente a la que le gusta la moda podrán ver y estudiar mi trabajo en cada uno de sus aspectos, y de una manera fácil y accesible para las generaciones más jóvenes. Pero también es importante recordar cosas del pasado, revisar la moda que ha dado forma a nuestras vidas, yo llamaría 'Recuerdo futuro’” – declaró el diseñador italiano a WWD.

La página web se ha diseñado en 3D y se ha construido de forma similar a un museo real con sus salas y galerías correspondientes, además y como curiosidad este museo virtual ocuparía una superficie de 9.987 metros cuadrados si quisiera ser construido en la realidad.
En esta maravilla tecnológica cuenta con más de 300 vestidos que repasan toda una vida de trabajo dedicada a la moda, además al hacer clic sobre los más importantes y representativos diseños el visitante puede observarlos al milímetro ya que han sido fotografiados en 360 grados, y al hacer un nuevo clic la historia del vestido se despliega ante los ojos de los más curiosos explicando dónde, cuándo y por quién fue llevado así como algunos bocetos, campañas y fotografías que le hacen referencia.

Y por si esto fuera poco el vestido que llevo Julia Roberts a los Oscar en 2001 o el vestido de boda de Jacqueline Kennedy con Aristotle Onassis también están incluidos en la muestra.
Diseños que marcaron un antes y un después en la moda, piezas de coleccionista, iconos de décadas pasadas, todos ellos estarán en este museo que pronto abrirá sus puertas virtuales a todo aquel curioso que quiera adentrarse en el mundo de este gran modisto.

He de admitir que una de las cosas que más me llaman la atención de todo lo que conlleva el mundo de la moda son los escaparates de las tiendas, hay algunos que son auténticas preciosidades, pero si hay uno que realmente admiro y del que tengo miles de fotografías en el ordenador es el perteneciente a Hermès situado en el número 24 de la calle Faubourg Saint-Honoré, París.

Detrás de este escaparate o maravilla artística está Leïla Menchari, quien desde 1978 presenta cuatro cuidadas decoraciones anuales para esas magníficas y admiradas vitrinas.
Leïla nació en Túnez, donde se graduó en la Escuela de Bellas Artes para después instalarse en París, y de esa forma seguir su carrera como pintora en la Escuela Nacional Superior de Bellas Artes.
Fue ahí donde conoció al también tunecino Azzedine Alaia, quién introdujo a la artista en el mundo de la moda y a través del que conoció al modisto Guy Laroche con quién empezó a trabajar al poco de conocerse.
Más tarde pasó a ser la a asistente de Annie Beaumel en Hermès, pero no fue hasta el año 1978 cuando Jean Louis Dumas Hermès, presidente de la firma francesa confió en la talentosa Leïla Menchari y le ofreció el puesto de estilista jefe.

Y tras un “Las vitrinas también son arte” Leïla se reafirma en su máxima gracias a la cual ha conseguido no sólo que los transeúntes dediquen unos minutos a admirar el escaparate parisino de Hermès, si no que ha logrado hacer de ello una forma diferente de vender moda entremezclándolo con arte, lujo y sobre todo imaginación y buen gusto.

I have to admit that one of the things attract my attention the most of everything around the fashion world are the shop windows, there are some really great, but if there is one that I really admire and of which I have tones of photographs saved in my computer is the belonging to Hermès placed on the 24th Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Paris.

Behind this shop window or artistic wonder is Leïla Menchari who since 1978 she presents four well cared annual decorations for those marvelous and admired display cabinets.
Leïla was born in Tunisia where she was graduated in the College of Fine Arts after and after what she moved to Paris for continuing with her career as artist in the Superior College of Fine Arts.
It was there where she met the Tunisian Azzedine Alaia, who introduced the painter in the fashion world and through who meet the couturier Guy Laroche, the one with she started to work a few time later after knowing him.
Later she become the assistant of Annie Beaumel in Hermès but it wasn’t until 1978 when Jean Louis Dumas Hermès president of the French brand trust in the talented Leïla Menchari and offered her the head stylist job.

And behind ‘Shop windows are also art’ Leïla stands by her maxim thanks to which she has achieved not only that the passer-by devote some minutes to admire the Parisian shop window of Hermès, she has also attained to make it a different way of selling fashion mixing it with art, luxury, imagination and good taste above all.

Un mes atrás publiqué un post sobre las desert boots o pisamierdas y desde entonces he recibido varios e-mails preguntándome donde conseguir un par con tacón o cuña, ya que al parecer son las más difíciles de encontrar.

Me he puesto manos a la obra y he visitado webs y tiendas online de diferentes marcas y tiendas low-cost, los botines con cordones abundan en todas ellas pero encontrar un par que se asemejen a las pisamierdas me ha resultado más complicado de lo que imaginaba, ¡Ahora entiendo por qué tantos e-mails!
Sin embargo esta búsqueda no sólo me ha servido para ayudaros si no que gracias a ello he descubierto una nueva marca, asequible y con unos zapatos de lo más bonitos, Les temps des cerises, pero al parecer sólo se pueden conseguir en la tienda online Spartoo, echadle un vistazo que no tiene desperdicio, y ¡Espero haberos echado una mano en vuestra búsqueda!

A month ago I published a post about desert boots and from that moment I have received some e-mails asking me where can be found a pair of them with heel or wedge, as it seems that they are the most difficult ones to be found on stores.

I got to it and I have visited webs and online shops of different brands and low-cost shops, booties with laces are abundant in all of them but finding a pair similar to desert boots has been more difficult than I imagined, now I understand why you sent me so many e-mails!
Nonetheless this search has not only served me for helping you, thanks to it I have discovered a new affordable brand with some nice shoes, Les temps des cerises, but apparently they only can be bought in the online shop Spartoo, have a look at it, there is no waste on it, and I hope I have helped you!

The most lovely video I've ever seen - Alexander McQueen S/S 2012 Backstage

No sé si alguna vez lo he llegado a confesar en el blog o no, pero mi diseñador favorito era Alexander McQueen, tras su muerte y la ocupación de su puesto por Sarah Burton las dudas se apoderaron de mí ya que Alexander era un genio, un soñador que hacía de sus diseños pura magia, por ello creí que Sarah no llegaría a encajar en la firma y no se desenvolvería en el puesto anteriormente ocupado por el excéntrico McQueen.

Su primera colección me gustó, que no emocionó, era un simple pero correcto look back a las colecciones llevadas a cabo por su predecesor, sin embargo la presentada el pasado Octubre en la París Fashion Week me dejó sin habla, boquiabierta, atónita… podría seguir añadiendo sinónimos y aun no expresar la sorpresa que me llevé.

Tras ello comencé a buscar vídeos y fotografías del backstage que son las que más me llaman la atención una vez visto el show y de repente hace un par de días encontré EL VIDEO, ¡Es precioso! Si tenéis 3-4 minutos dadle al play, podréis disfrutar del desfile de una manera mucho más íntima y profunda.

I don’t know if I have confessed it on the blog or not, but here you have, my favourite designer was Alexander McQueen, after his death and the occupation of his position by Sarah Burton, I was seized by doubts because Alexander was a genius, a dreamer that made his designs look like magic, just because of that I thought that Sarah wouldn’t achieve to fit in the brand and she wouldn’t manage in the job position previously in charge of the eccentric McQueen.

I liked her first collection, but I wasn’t moved or touched, it was a simple but correct look back to the collections designed by his predecessor, nonetheless the one which was exhibited the last October in Paris Fashion Week left me speechless, astonished, amazed… I could add more synonyms and not express correctly the surprise I received.

After that I started searching for videos and backstage photographs which are the ones that attract my attention the most once seen the show, and suddenly a pair of days ago I found THE VIDEO, it is marvelous! If you have 3-4 minutes, watch it, you could enjoy the fashion show in a more closer and deeper way.

Darkness and neon lights at home: The black apartment

De un tiempo a esta parte tener un apartamento o piso pintado en color blanco y siguiendo el estilo minimalista es algo de lo más común, aunque a mí me sigue encantando, pero veamos, ¿Un apartamento negro? ¿Dónde se ha visto eso? Pues existir existe, está situado en la ciudad de los rascacielos y su dueña es Cindy Gallop, reconocida publicista que dijo “de noche quiero sentirme como si estuviera en un nightclub en Shangai”, idea principal a partir de la cual desarrolló su black apartment.

Revistas, fotógrafos de prestigio y varios diseñadores se han interesado por este curioso apartamento, que tal y como podéis observar en las fotografías está cuidadosamente decorado siguiendo un estilo un poco oscuro que queda contrarrestado con varias luces de neón y los 300 pares maravillosos zapatos de Cindy.

El black apartment es un pulso al blanco inmaculado del prototipo de casa instaurado hoy en día, la otra cara del Yin Yang llevada al interiorismo, la fantasía de muchos hecha realidad… ¡Chapeau Cindy!

Hija de la modelo y jefa de compras de los prestigiosos y archiconocidos almacenes Selfridges, Pandora Delevigne, amiga de las it girls Alexa Chung y Olivia Palermo e icono de marcas como Burberry, Poppy es a día de hoy una de las caras más conocidas de la moda.

Cuando Universal Pictures afirmó que iba a llevar a cabo una nueva versión de Blancanieves pocos se imaginaron algo así.

Al margen de cualquier interpretación bucólica del cuento clásico, durante la pasada Comic Con el director de este proyecto Rupert Saunders hizo público que “Blancanieves y la leyenda del cazador” iba más en la línea del estilo estético de El señor de los anillos, cosa que dejó boquiabierto a más de uno.

Los productores de “Alicia en el país de las maravillas” y “Sexto sentido” nos proponen una Blancanieves nada edulcorada y lejos de todo aquello a lo que estamos acostumbrados, Kristen Stewart encargada de dar vida a Snow White es ni más ni menos que ¡Una guerrera!, sí, una guerrera dispuesta a recuperar su reino de las manos de la malvada madrastra encarnada por la oscarizada Charlize Theron, cuyo objetivo es destruir a toda aquella mujer que le supere en belleza, motivo por el cual enviará al Cazador (Chris Hemsworth) a matar a su hijastra, quién lejos de quitarle la vida enseñará a ésta a defenderse.

¡Pero aquí no acaba todo! Y es que cierto rumor ronda por la red, al parecer Snow White and the Huntsman es sólo el aperitivo de algo más grande ya que según se comenta formará parte de una trilogía, aunque de momento y antes de hacernos a la idea, mejor será que esperemos hasta el próximo verano cuando tendrá lugar el estreno de esta película, sin mayores visos al futuro, ¡Quién sabe si serán sólo rumores!
Yo tengo claro que no me la voy a perder, el tráiler me ha encantado y la estética de la película aún más, por cierto ¿Es cosa mía o el diseño que luce Charlize Theron es de Alexander McQueen?

But this is not everything! The fact is that a rumor is on internet, it seems that Snow White is only the appetizer of something bigger, because it is said to be a part of a trilogy, although before to have this idea in mind it is better to wait for the next summer, moment in which this film is going to be launched, without more signs for the future, who knows if these are only rumors!

El modelaje es ese mundo fugaz donde un día puedes estar en la cima y al día siguiente ser ese muñeco roto del que nadie se acuerda, sin embargo hay modelos que gracias a su forma de ser, su naturalidad y por supuesto su físico consiguieron hace ya algunos años el título de tops, estoy hablando ni más ni menos que de las top models de los 90, esas mismas que veis en la fotografía del principio del post - ¿Os habéis fijado en Carla Bruni? ¡Quién le iba a decir que llegaría a ser primera dama de Francia! -.

Y hablando de décadas pasadas, el mítico grupo de rock inglés Duran Duran ha vuelto a la carga y esta vez con mucha más fuerza que ha quedado fielmente plasmada en ‘Girl Panic’ el primer single de su nuevo disco ‘All you need is now’ y cuyo videoclip cuenta con cinco madrinas de altura, ni más ni menos que las tops Eva Herzigova, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen y Yasmin Le Bon, mujer de Simon Le Bon, cantante del grupo.

Un ritmo pegadizo, una estética acorde con el grupo y un guiño a los excesos del rock y el glamour del new wave han sido entremezclados en un videoclip donde los propios integrantes de Duran Duran aparecen como figurantes, botones o cámaras dejando todo el protagonismo a las cinco modelos. Además y por si esto fuera poco Dolce & Gabbana y Swarovski también han tomado parte en la iniciativa, ¡Todo un lujo!
Creo que después de esto a nadie le cabe la menor duda de que Girl Panic va a dar mucho que hablar, es más me atrevería a decir que ¡Va a ser todo un éxito!

Modelling is that fleeting world where one day you can be on the top and another one you can be that broken toy which no one remembers, nonetheless there are some models who thanks to their manner, their naturalness and also their figure, some years ago managed to obtain the title of tops, I am talking about the top models of the 90’s, those who you can see on the photograph above – Have you noticed Carla Bruni? Who would have thought she will be the First Lady of France! -.

And talking about past decades, the iconic rock band Duran Duran has returned to the attack and this time with much more strength which has been captured in ‘Girl Panic’ the first single of their new album ‘All you need is now’ and whose video counts with five awesome godmothers, neither more nor less than the tops Eva Herzigova, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen and Yasmin Le Bon, the wife of Simon Le Bon, singer of the band.

A catchy rhythm, an aesthetic appropriate to the band and a wink to the excess of the rock and the glamour of the new wave mixed up in a video where the members of Duran Duran appear as extras, bellboys or cameraman leaving all the prominence to the five models. Furthermore if this is not enough, Dolce & Gabbana and Swarovski have taken part in the initiative, it’s a luxury!
I think that after this all no one doubts that Girl Panic is going to give plenty to talk about, I could dare to say that is going to be a success!

Como bien sabéis uno de los temas sobre los que más me gusta escribir y publicar posts es la controversia y altas dosis de lascivia que reina en el mundo de la moda.

Primero fue Tom Ford y el perfume Tom Ford for men, una serie de anuncios que no dejaron indiferente a nadie, más tarde Calvin Klein y su campaña en la que según muchos neoyorkinos y medios americanos aparecía escondida la palabra “Fuck” a modo de mensaje subliminal, y ahora la estadounidense American Apparel toma las riendas de la polémica con este set de fotografías en las que anuncian – o pretenden – la nueva colección de zapatos para el Otoño/Invierno 2011-2012.

¿Es la sensualidad llevada al límite el marketing más atrayente? ¿Llegará un punto en el que el sexo deje de llamarnos tanto la atención? Qui lo sa…

As you already know one of the topics I like to write about is the controversy and high doses of lasciviousness that reigns on the fashion world.

Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld work together for a cause, a new book is coming!

Cuando me enteré que Carine Roitfeld y Karl Lagerfeld iban a llevar a cabo un libro pensé “Ese libro va a ser un bestseller”, nadie puede negar que el Káiser tiene una gran proyección a nivel comercial – sólo hay que ver el tirón de la Diet Coke o el boom de sus productos para Sephora – y si además le añadimos la sabiduría de Carine en cuanto a temas de estilismo, el resultado esperado no puede ser otro, pero por desgracia aún tendremos que esperar un poco más para ver el libro íntegramente.

Al parecer el tema central de la obra es la chaqueta de tweed tan característica de la maison francesa y tal y como se puede observar en las fotografías que se han filtrado por internet, Karl ha elegido a mujeres – y según he leído también habrá algunos hombres – de diferentes años y empleos pero con un denominador común, su gran estilo.

El libro sigue en proceso de producción pero si tenéis curiosidad y queréis saber más, en el número de V Magazine que ha visto la luz hoy hay un preview y más detalles al respecto.

When I heard about Carine Roitfeld and Karl Lagerfeld were going to publish a book together I thought ‘This book is going to be a bestseller’, no one can deny that the Kaiser has a great scope in commercial spheres – you just have to see the Diet Coke or the boom of his products for Sephora – and if we add the wisdom of Carine in styling terms, the expected result can’t be another one, but unfortunately we have to wait a little bit more to see the whole book.

It seems that the central theme of the work is the tweed iconic jacket of the French maison and as you can observe in these photographs that have been leak out on internet, Karl has selected women – and as I have read there will also be some men – of different ages and jobs but with a common denominator, their great style.

The book is already in production process but if you are curious of knowing more about it, the new issue of V Magazine that has been published today has a preview and more details on the subject.

CO।TE, the new cool austerity made collection

CO।TE es una firma italiana creada a partir de un intercambio de ideas non-stop de sus dos diseñadores Tomaso Anfossi y Francesco Ferrari, quienes se conocieron gracias a importantes proyectos en los que andaban envueltos y tras lo cual una fugaz pero sólida amistad tomó forma de marca de ropa.

Tal y como ambos afirman su referencia es la mujer actual, curiosa, con ganas de descubrir nuevas cosas y con unos objetivos ambiciosos, además su principal preocupación a la hora de diseñar una colección son las telas, ya que sostienen que las prendas deben ser llevadas de la misma forma que son expuestas, sin sufrir modificación alguna en la textura o acoplamiento al cuerpo.

Rozando la sobriedad, los diseños de su última colección para la próxima Primavera/Verano 2012 me han dejado ojiplática, estructuras geométricas y superposición de prendas son sus dos pilares básicos, además cuenta con una paleta cromática de lo más minimalista con el blanco como mayor exponente y con dosis más moderadas de naranja y azul.

En resumen, he aquí una firma Made in Italy muy a tener en cuenta.

CO ।TE is an Italian brand set up in a non-stop exchange of ideas of the two designers that have developed it, Tomaso Anfossi and Francesco Ferrari, who meet each other thanks to important projects they had in common and after which a brief but solid friendship that took shape of a clothing brand.

As both of them assert their main reference is the actual woman, curious, with wishes and objectives to achieve, furthermore their first concern while designing a collection is the selection of fabrics, because they support that clothes must be worn as they are exhibited or worn by models, without suffering any modification in textures or fitting.

Bordering on simplicity, the designs of this last collection for the next Spring/Summer 2012 are astonishing, geometric shapes and the superposition of clothes are two of their basic pillars, moreover it has a minimalist chromatic palette with the white color as its greatest exponent and with smaller dose of orange and blue.

To sum up, here you have a Made in Italy brand to bear in mind.

This item is my favorite of the whole collection, it is really lovely!

The fashionable side of Bilbao

Hace unos años Bilbao no era precisamente una de las ciudades del panorama nacional que destacasen por los eventos relacionados con la moda, sin embargo parece que poco a poco esta disciplina va alcanzando un cierto status y posición en cuanto a actos realizados en la villa, es por ello que hoy quería comentaros dos citas a tener en cuenta en este mes de Noviembre.

La primera en realizarse será la 3ª edición de Ikas-Art del 10 al 13 en el BEC (Bilbao Exhibition Centre) donde podréis disfrutar de una amplia muestra de arte universitario de universidades de Bellas Artes del panorama tanto nacional como internacional, además de mesas redondas y conferencias que se realizarán con el objetivo de impulsar a los artistas más jóvenes.

¡Pero eso no es todo! El diseñador vasco Ion Fiz aprovechará la ocasión para realizar un outlet de prendas y complementos a precios especiales ¿Os lo vais a perder?

Y por último el ya conocido Fitting Room vuelve a Bilbao en su 6ª edición, ciudad donde nació hace algo más de dos años, la fecha elegida es el sábado 26 de Noviembre y el lugar el Hotel Meliá – antiguo Sheraton – el mismo que en la 3ª edición de la que os hablé aquí.
Para esta edición el Fitting Room contará con artistas y diseñadores de países como Italia, Singapur, México, España o Argentina y The Brandery volverá a ser el event partner, gracias a lo cual se otorgará un premio en la categoría de moda y complementos a uno de los diseñadores participantes.

Un evento genial al que no pienso faltar, así que si decidís ir ¡Allí nos vemos!

Some years ago Bilbao was not precisely one of those cities of the national panorama which stand out by the events related to fashion celebrated in it, nonetheless it seems that little by little this discipline is achieving a status and position according to the acts carried out in the town, is because of this fact that today I wanted to write about two dates to bear in mind this November.

The first one is the 3rd edition of Ikas-Art which will be hold in the BEC (Bilbao Exhibition Centre) from the 10th until the 13th and where you will enjoy a wide sample of university art from Universities of Fine Arts of the national and international panorama, as well as conferences and round tables which will be carried out with the objective of driving young artists.

But if this is not enough, there is still more! The basque designer Ion Fiz will take the advantage of it to make an outlet with clothes and accessories at special prices. Will you miss it?

And last but not least, the Fitting Room goes back to Bilbao in its 6th edition, city where it was born a couple of years ago, the selected date is the 26th of November and the place the Meliá Hotel – it was called Sheraton some years ago – the same hotel in which was held the 3rd edition I wrote about here.
For this edition the Fitting Room will rely on artists and designers from countries like Italy, Singapur, Mexico , Spain or Argentina, and The Brandery will be the event partner again, thanks to which a prize will be given in the fashion and accessories category to one of the designer participants.

A great event which I am not going to miss, see you there!

Yes, it was a windy day in Bilbao ;)

Hace un mes que los chicos de Tendencias.tv estuvieron en Bilbao – los que me seguís en Twitter os enterasteis al momento – para grabar un par de videos con motivo de la Coolhunting Experience en la que como ya os comenté ando involucrada y este es el primero de los vídeos que ha visto la luz, ¡Próximamente más!

A curious look alike: Ginta Lapina and Andrej Pejic

Caroline Trentini y Heather Marks, Bianca Balti e Isabeli Fontana, Gemma Ward y Sasha Pivovarova… son muchas las modelos con parecidos razonables, pero nunca antes había reparado en las facciones similares de Ginta Lapina y Andrej Pejic – el andrógino modelo del que os hablé aquí – hasta que el otro día encontré esta editorial de Numéro.

La larga melena rubia que lucen ambos al igual que su afilada cara son dos de sus mejores armas y las características que les hacen ser casi idénticos, punto en el cual ya debieron reparar los encargados de llevar a cabo la campaña de Marc by Marc Jacobs Primavera/Verano 2011.
Una vez más el camaleónico Andrej ha conseguido dejar estupefactos a muchos, ¿Qué será lo siguiente?

Caroline Trentini and Heather Marks, Bianca Balti and Isabeli Fontana, Gemma Ward and Sasha Pivovarova… there are lots of models with similar features, but I have never noticed before the similar features of Ginta Lapina and Andrej Pejic –the androgynous model I wrote about here – until the other day when I found this editorial of Numéro’s new issue.

The long blonde hair so as their sharp faces are two of their greatest weapons and the characteristics they made look almost identical, point which people who made the Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2011 campaign noticed some months ago.
Once again the chameleonic Andrej has achieved to leave many people speechless, what will be the next?

Topshop's sparkly holiday collection on stores next month!

El turrón ya ha llegado a los supermercados y los lookbooks de las holiday collection empiezan a aparecer, uno de los primeros ha sido el gran gigante inglés, Topshop.

Topshop es esa tienda-meca que si abriera dos o tres tiendas más en España – y las existentes tuvieran unos precios más acordes con las de Reino Unido – buena parte de los amantes de la moda temerían por su futuro económico más cercano, en resumen, Topshop es algo parecido a una maison del low-cost, siempre marcando lo que está in y lo que no, pero todo ello sin olvidarse de su tan característico estilo, ese híbrido entre lo folk, boho, rockero y preppy que tanto llama la atención, y ¡Cómo no! La colección festiva de este año tiene un poco de todos ellos.

Unos cuantos LBD, el mítico pero siempre tan correcto black & white, piel sintética en abrigos y alguna que otra pailette es lo que nos ofrece esta conocida cadena para las festividades que se avecinan y que poco a poco tenemos más cerca. ¿Y vosotras ya sabéis qué os vais a poner?

Nougats candy have already arrived to supermarkets and the holiday collection lookbooks start to appear over here, one of the first has been the British giant, Topshop.

Topshop is that kind of shop-mecca that if it opens two or three shops more in Spain – and the existing ones have more affordable prices as the stores placed in Uk have – a great part of the fellow followers of trends and fashion would fear of their nearer economic future, to sum up, Topshop is something similar to a maison based on low-cost, always ticking what is in and what isn’t, but everything without forgetting its characteristic style, that hybrid between folk, boho, rocker and preppy that attracts our attention, and of course! The holiday collection of this year has a few bits of them all.

Some LBD, the mythical but always correct black & white, faux fur on coats and some pailettes is what this worldwide known chain store offers us for the festivities that come near and which gradually we have closer.
