My daily inspiration

Como muchas de vosotras, yo también tengo una carpeta donde almaceno mis imágenes favoritas, aquellas que me inspiran o me transmiten alguna sensación, así que he hecho una selección de ellas y aquí las tenéis, espero que os gusten tanto como a mí.

Like most of you I also have a folder where I store my favourite images, those who inspire me or transmit me some sensation, so I have done a selection and here you have the result, I hope you like them as I like.

Abbey Lee for Exit magazine

La modelo australiana Abbey Lee es la nueva chica del número de la revista Exit de éste mes, creo que recordaréis a Abbey por su reciente colaboración con Gucci en su anuncio de la colonia Flora; Ella al igual que Maryna Linchuk y Gemma Ward, es una de mis modelos favoritas por su gran personalidad, y por ello me encantan estas fotografías que han sido tomadas por el gran fotógrafo Dan Martensen que es alucinante capturando la belleza y el estilo natural de las modelos.

The Australian fashion model Abbey Lee is the sexy new poster girl in the new issue of Exit, I think you might remember Abbey of the recent colaboration with Gucci for the new spot Flora; She is like Maryna Linchuk and Gemma Ward one of my favourite models because of her great personality, so, I love these shots which have been taken by the great photographer Dan Martensen, who is amazing capturing the models' natural style and beauty.

She is... Maryna Linchuk

Maryna Linchuk es una modelo bielorrusa de 21 años nacida en Minsk, capital de Bielorrusia, en 1987. Gracias a sus expresivos ojos azules verdosos ha cautivado a fotógrafos y diseñadores y ha ocupado portadas de revistas como Vogue, Harper's Bazaar o Numéro, por nombrar algunas.
Su carrera comenzó en 2006 cuando fue fichada por la agencia DNA models y gracias a la cual dio el salto y apareció en la editorial de la edición griega de Harper's Bazaar en Julio del mismo año, y más tarde, en Septiembre desfiló para Alexander McQueen, Givenchy y Stella McCartney en París, y a partir de ahí conocimos a una imparable Maryna Linchuk.
Las últimas noticias de esta modelo vienen de la mano de Dolce & Gabanna para los que fue fotografiada por Steven Klein compartiendo campaña con Claudia Schiffer, además, ha firmado recientemente un contrato con Christian Dior Addict para ser imagen de sus cosméticos y ha aparecido en la editorial de Vogue China.

Ella es una de mis modelos favoritas, tiene una estructura ósea espectacular, su cara posee unos rasgos marcados y afilados que la distinguen de las demás modelos y lo mejor de todo es que no es extremadamente delgada, ¿Algo que objetar? No a mi parecer.

Maryna Linchuk is a 21 old model form Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Thank to her expressive blue-green eyes she has captivated photographers and designers and has been on the cover of magazines like Vogue, Harpers Bazaar or Numero.
Her career begun in 2006 when she was signed up by the DNA models agency thanks to which she jumped in the fashion world and appeared on the Greek Harper’s Bazaar editorial in the July issue, lately, in September she paraded for McQueen, Givenchy and Stella McCartney in Paris and from there we knew an unstoppable Maryna Linchuk.
Last news of this model comes with Dolce & Gabbana for the brand she was photographed by Steven Klein sharing campaign with the top Claudia Schiffer, furthermore she has recently signed a contract with Christian Dior Addict and has appeared in the editorial of the Vogue China magazine.

She is one of my favourite models, she has an awesome osseous structure, her face has sharp and pronounced characteristics who distinguish herself from the rest of the models, and the best of all is that she is not extremely slim, anything to object? Not for me.

Zena Holloway underwater photographer and director

Zena Holloway es la fotógrafa submarina profesional líder del Reino Unido; Zena comenzó a tomar fotografías y vídeos en el mar desde una temprana edad, por ello es completamente autodidacta siendo además, la primera fotógrafa que ha tomado fotografías submarinas a nuevas profundidades. A la edad de treinta y tres años Zena es una extraordinaria artista poseedora de un increíble talento.De entre sus clientes cabe destacar Nike, Dazed and Confused, BBC o la National Geographic, y además ha ganado diez premios de fotografía y cuatro de dirección que exaltan su genial trabajo.

En mi opinión Zena fotografía las imágenes submarinas más espectaculares que se puedan imaginar, tanto que a veces parece que las imágenes han sido tomadas en otro planeta.

Zena Holloway is the UKs leading professional underwater photographer; working in the sea from a young age with photography and film Zena is completely self-taught. She has been the first photographer who has taken underwater photography to entirely new depths. At thirty-three years of age Zena is a unique and truly gifted artist.Among her clients I have to emphasize Nike, Dazed and Confused, BBC or National Geographic, furthermore, she have won ten photography awards and four directors awards which exalt her great work.

In my opinion she creates the most spectacular underwater images imaginable, so much that sometimes it look likes the images have been shot on another planet.

Eva Herzigova for Vogue Paris

Me encantan las editoriales con toques decadentes y tinte antiguo como "Cherchez la femme" de la Vogue París de este mes, la cual tiene por estrella a una radiante Eva Herzigova.
Personalmente le doy un sobresaliente al trabajo del fotógrafo Walter Pfeiffer, el que mediante las fotografías nos muestra a una sonriente y espectacular Eva, rodeada de miles de colores y al más puro estilo barroco.

I love the editorials with decadent and ancient touch like "Cherchez la femme" the editorial of this month's Vogue Paris issue, the one who has chosen a radiant Eva Herzigova.
I personally give an A to Walter Pfeiffer's work, who by the photographs show us a cheerful and spectacular Eva, surrounded by lots of colours like she was in the Baroque.

I ♥ these pair of shoes

Éstos exquisitos zapatos pertenecen a la colección P/V 09 de Peter Som (los primeros) y de Prada, no sé si es por su mezcla entre lo antiguo y lo contemporáneo, el romanticismo y algún toque futurista, pero me han dejado completamente anonadada; Ojalá, y con perdón a estas grandes firmas, clonen estos diseños alguna de las tiendas con ropa low cost (¡¿Amancio me oyes?!) y podamos adquirirlos sin que nuestro bolsillo se resienta.

These exquisite shoes belong to the S/S 09 collection of Peter Som (the first pair) and Prada, I don't know if it is because of the mixture of the old and contemporary, the romanticism and some futuristic touch, but they have left me speechless; I apologize to this big brands but I wish the low cost clothes shops clone these designs (Amancio do you hear me?!) and we be able to adquire them without feeling culpable of paying so much money for them.

Ya os comenté que posiblemente estos curiosos leggings psicodélicos arrasarían las portadas de muchas revistas, tiendas y más tarde nuestros armarios... Me ha costado encontrar esta foto, pero aquí la tenéis a Leighton Meester (Blair en Gossip Girl) en el New York Times luciendo unos maravillosos leggings a juego con la chaqueta, todo de Alexander McQueen; habrá que reconsiderar la compra de unos leggings psicodélicos ¿No?

I told you that possibly these curious psicodelic leggings would be a trend and they would appear on the cover of many magazines, on the shops and after in our wardrobes... I have been looking for this picture a log time but now, here you have, Leighton Meester (Blair in Gossip Girl) in the New York Times wearing a pair of awesome leggings matched with the jacket, all of it from Alexander McQueen; we will have to reconsider to buy some psicodelic leggings ¿Won't we?

Trend alert: John Lennon glasses

¿Quién no recuerda los famosos anteojos redondos que puso de moda John Lennon?

Aquellas gafas se convirtieron en el símbolo del músico tras la gira de los Beatles en Japón en Junio de 1966, y es ahora cuando después de más de cuatro décadas éstas gafas históricas vuelven a pisar la calle.

Hasta ahora han sido sólo unos pocos los que se han atrevido a lucirlas, entre ellos podemos encontrar a la modelo británica Agyness Deyn, a la idolatrada celebrity Mary Kate Olsen, la cantante Lady Gaga y una de las net-celebrities españolas con más influencia en el mundo Gala González, además también han sido añadidas como complemento en los desfiles de Proenza Schouler y Ralph Lauren.

Yo apuesto firmemente por éstos singulares anteojos, además, y creo que es uno de los pocos tesoros que puedo rescatar del pasado, puedo decir que tengo unos anteojos John Lennon vintage gracias a mi madre y no dudaré en ponérmelos más de una vez ésta primavera.

Who don’t remember the famous pair of John Lennon’s sunglasses?
Those sunglasses became the symbol of the musician after the Beatle’s tour in Japan in June of 1966, and it’s now when after more than four decades these historical sunglasses are on the street again.
They have been only a few who have worn this pair of glasses until now, among them we can find the British model Agyness Deyn, the famous celebrity Mary Kate Olsen, the singer Lady Gaga and one of the most influential Spanish net-celebrities Gala González, furthermore, they have been added like accessory in the Proenza Schouler and Ralph Lauren’s catwalks.
I bet these peculiar sunglasses on, moreover I think this is one of the few family treasures I can rescue from the past and I can say I have a pair of John Lennon vintage sunglasses and I won’t hesitate to wear them.

¿Por qué no eligieron ésta primera fotografía para la portada? Me gusta la original pero creo que ésta foto es maravillosa.

Style.com (vía el número de Mayo de Vogue USA) tiene un artículo sobre Steven Meisel, y comienza con:

60 years of Dior

Tras la posguerra y con el nuevo resurgimiento de París Christian Dior se convertía en un mito viviente y en el diseñador más codiciado.

La maison celebra 60 años de fotografías, llenas de estilo y moda con una exposición en Moscú.

120 fotografías nos muestran los entresijos de los desfiles de alta costura, a John Galliano a caballo simulando una batalla épica, pasando por el backstage de la pasarela de París y de las instantáneas de las estilizadas maniquíes de los 50.

Éstas obras de arte vienen de la mano de fotógrafos como Patrick Demarchelier, Henry Clarke, Simon Procter o el británico Zanna.

No es casualidad que Moscú haya sido elegida para ésta significativa exposición, ya que Dior y la URSS han estado unidos desde su comienzo allá por los años 50, además, John Galliano ha rendido homenaje a Rusia en numerosas ocasiones, como por ejemplo la colección de 1998 de alta costura de Dior, en la que el leitmotiv de ésta no era otro si no el ballet ruso, mientras que en la de primavera-verano de 2002 el modisto trasladaba a la pasarela el fascinante mundo ornamental ruso tras un viaje al Museo de Pedro el Grande en San Petersburgo

After the postward period and with the new resurgence of Paris Christian Dior was turned into alive legend and in the most coveted designer. The maison celebrates 60 years of photographs, full of style and fashion with an exhibition in Moscu. 120 photographs show us ins and outs of the haute couture's catwalks, John Galliano riding a horse representing an epic battle, the Paris' catwalk's backtage and the snapshots of the stylized dummies of the 50. These works of art are photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, Henry Clarke, Simon Procter or the British Zanna.

It isn't a chance that Moscu has been selected for this significant ehibition, Dior and the USSR have been united since it's beginig, furthermore, John Galliano has paid homage to Russia lots of times, like in the haute couture's catwalk in 1998, in which the leitmotiv was the Russian ballet, meanwhile in the 2002 S/S fashion show the couturier moved the awesome Russian ornamental world to the catwalk after a travel to the Saint Petersburg Peter the Great museum.

Welcome to the future..

Si hace unas semanas posteé la colección de Sarah Seven destacando el toque romántico de sus diseños, ahora tengo que postear el trabajo de Selina Parr y el aire futurista de los suyos.
Selina Parr es una diseñadora británica que estudió en la Academia Arnhem de Diseño y Arte Visual. Su trabajo es una interesante exploración de formas sencillas combinadas con unos cortes únicos, unas técnicas estructurales espectaculares y muchas correas en brazos y piernas, consiguiendo dar así, una forma tridimensional a las ropas.

If some weeks ago I posted the collection of Sarah Seven and I emphasized the romantic touch of her designs, now I have to post Selina Parr's work and the futuristic air of her designs.
Selina Parr is a British born designer who studied at Arnhem Academy of Visual Art and Design. Her own work is an interesting exploration of simple shapes combined with unique cutting and structural techniques and lots of strapping on arms and legs, lending the clothes a 3 dimensional form.

Ray Ban: Never Hide campaign

Desde su creación en 1953 las Ray Ban Wayfarers han sido un accesorio legendario como ningún otro, además, éste año han sido actualizadas con la creación de las nuevas Colorize Wayfarers.
Y para más expectación Ray-Ban pondrá a la venta un kit para retocarlas en el que puedes pintar las clásicas Wayfarers a tu gusto.
Ray-Ban acaba de sacar una campaña con su ya común “Never Hide” y en la que ha colaborado el fotógrafo de renombre Tomas Ruch haciendo que las imágenes parecieran photoshopeadas, y sin embargo, los modelos de la campaña fueron pintados en la vida real para darle un extra de autenticidad a la misma.

Since its invention in 1952, Ray-Ban Wayfarers design has been an accessory legend like no other, furthermore, this year have been updated by the creation of Colorize Wayfarers. To add more admiration, Ray-Ban will release a customizable kit and with it you can actually paint and design your very own Wayfarers.
Ray-Ban has a new creative campaign out in their ongoing “Never Hide” and in which has collaborated the photographer Tomas Ruch doing that the prints look as if the images were photoshopped and however, the models for the campaign were actually painted in real life to give it an extra of authenticity.

Ésta será una de mis próximas compras, unas gafas de sol, pero sinceramente no sé qué modelo puede quedarme mejor, soy una fan incondicional de las Wayfarer pero debido a mi cara alargada no me sientan nada bien, así que había pensado en las Ray-Ban Aviator ¿Me aconsejáis algun modelo en especial? (No tienen por qué ser Ray-Ban, de hecho la marca no es lo que más me importa)

This is what it's in my wishlist, a pair of sunglasses, but honestly I don't know which model can suit me, I'm an inconditional fan of the Wayfarer model but I have an elongated face and they don't suit me so, I have thought about the Ray-Ban Aviator ¿Do you advice me any model? (They don't have to be Ray-Ban, it doesn't matter the brand)
